It began as a muddy pool, which was the meaning of the city’s original name: Liuerpul. Liverpool, located in England, was found by King John during 1207. It was known for being a port town, which was used to send soldiers and supplies to the Irish Sea during the conquering of Ireland by England. As years passed, King John divided the land and allowed people to establish houses and to start living. Later, they were given more freedom to start their own organizations. Over the next centuries, population grew and fell constantly because of poverty and famine. The economy wasn’t stable enough to give the city a proud name. It was not until the years between 1760 and 1850, when a big era hit the city of Liverpool, called Industrial Revolution. It became a success because of new technology that was invented to increase the population and secure its safety. Liverpool's industrialization became a success because new ideas and inventions affected the size of population and development of Liverpool. Due to the new uprising of cotton and woolen textile industries; not only did it bring forth new ideas and inventions, but it also caused riots among laborers because they couldn't find jobs (because people were replaced by machines). It started off as a manufacture done at home. They had to go through different stages like sorting and cleaning, in order to make a product. These jobs were mainly done by women and children. Raw materials for these industries were imported from countries like China, West Indies and Africa. But the production was not well-organized because people were scattered all throughout the city, and transportation wasn’t at its best position. However, textile industry began to experience a revolution. John Kay came up with... ... middle of paper ... ... for a permanent pay, which escalated the population of the workers. Those who invested in or started these projects included landed aristocracy, industrialists and merchants. They took the risk to invest, even if they knew it would end up being a failure. And it was these risk-takers that prolonged the revolution. At the end, Liverpool experienced changes in all features of life. This transformation was therefore named the Industrial Revolution, for it completely abandoned the “old manner of doing things.” Ideas that lead to inventions; modifications in technology; new industries; modern agricultural; expansion of exporting and importing; and economy’s escalation made all these dreams come true. Once again, this success helped Liverpool and increase population. The Industrial Revolution brought major and important changes that forever changed Liverpool’s status.
