Why the Smartphone is so useful? The smartphone is a very useful device in all of society today. It was shown by the Pew Research Center that “64 percent of all in the United States has a smartphone” (Aaron Smith). People find these devices to be extremely relevant because many smartphone owners depend on the electronic devices for internet access. A study was shown that the average American is on their phone 4.7 hours a day and 3 hours of non-vocal activities. Another way shown that the smartphone is very useful is that 46 percent of all people with a smartphone says that they could not live without it. If a person were ever in an endangered situation they could call emergency services from their device. “137 more lives are saved per 100,000 patients when emergency services are called from a mobile phone” (Journal of Emergency Medicine). The phone has saved more lives because they don’t have to go to a payphone or go into a public place to call emergency services when they have everything right in their pocket. Smartphones also have alert systems in inside the phone and they go off when there is an amber alert, terrorist attacks, tornado warnings and more. These have saved smartphone user’s lives because this would tell people to move to a safe location for the moment and stay there until everything is all cleared up. When a person is endangered, they now have a chance to think of a way their smartphone can help them. There is also a GPS in the phones so if someone was to ever be lost, they would be able to find how they can get to the destination they want to be in. The Smartphone also has a bright flashlight which someone could use. For example, if someone is trapped in a dark building that is on fire, they have a flashlight to find the nearest emergency exit. This will also keep a person from tripping over something and getting hurt when they are walking through the dark. The device has created many jobs for people in the working field. The device also has proven to higher the chances of safer efforts in dangerous times. The smartphone has brought people together in real life and has created social and dating relationships with people. The smartphone is a very great device in the world in today’s time because it created a substantial number of jobs for people all around the world, the device will keep people if safer hands in dangerous situations, and the smartphone also has brought others together in real-life. The smartphone is a very useful life for social uses, and economical uses. The smartphone will benefit society because of how it directs safety and how it affects people’s social life. This will also help economically because it brings back about 3 trillion dollars at the end of each year and that number will rise in more years to come.
