Nora Roberts: Do romance novels give false expectations of love, romance and relationships to women?

Although romance novels are considered to be made up and part of the fiction genre, many women alike take them too seriously and they have been blamed for giving women false expectations of love, romance and relationships. Studies show that some women can become addicted to unreal world that romance novels take them to. Many women have admitted to reading up to thirty romance novels a month. Almost one a day! The Author Nora Roberts is widely known author for her romance novels and better known for connecting her readers to the world of “falling in love”.

Nora Roberts was born and raised into a large family being the youngest of five. She grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. “Reading and writing was always an inspiration”. She could never remember a time when she says she wasn’t reading or writing. After several fails and rejections, ‘Irish Thoroughbred’ was finally published by Silhouette in 1981. She has said to have a good view of the men’s view on love and romance through her novels because of she’s been surrounded by men most of her life. Her viewings of men come to a consistent delight to readers and pose many questions. Do reading romance novels from different perspectives give readers different perspectives on their own personal relationships?

Not only Nora Roberts but many other Authors and people alike believe that romance novels may give women and men alike false expectations about their relationships and love life are supposed to be like. ...o. Romance novels are good to read now and then but if you get too involved you may find yourself disappointed with the man you fell in love with you. You could lose your way and realize that true love is hard to find.

Romance novels are ment to be erotc and adventurous to draw you in and keep you interested. In life you may not always be interested but you should never lose sight of what is in front of you. Many women fall in love with the idea of what is make believe rather than what is real and they try to model their spouse like clay into the perfect sculpture until they push too far and lose everything they have. Overall romance novels have been great reads for centuries and will continue to grow in reading sales but will also to continue to give false hope and expectations to many women about what love, romance and relationships really are.
