Goals are important for every individual to have in their life. Goals help people get to places in their life and typically, positively impact their life. As an early childhood education major, it is beneficial for me to have professional goals. These goals will impact my own life and the lives of my future students and their families. Every early childhood professional should have their own goals. They can have their own personal goals, but they should also have goals that pertain to their profession. These goals are important to have because often it will relate to advance their knowledge in the field or contributing in a positive way. Goals help people improve who they are and what they do. My goal of working with children is more general right now because I don’t want to be picky about where I end up. I don’t to decide right now that I would never work somewhere and then possibly end up missing out on a great opportunity to be involved with children and their families. Another goal of mine is to be able to positively impact those children that I will be working with. I most likely will be around those children for a majority of the day, so I want to be able to always be there for them. I want to be able to remember that they are most than scores and tests. My goal is to help them become better people and grow into great citizens. Another goal of mine is to help educate their parents too. I want to help their parents become aware of the resources that are available for them.
