My trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana was an amazing experience since I was able to meet my mother in law and that my boyfriend was able to meet his mother since he was 8. The drive to Louisiana was fill with woods and empty roads but we were able to make it there safely. Once we were able to catch up on everything throughout the years, we started to head to New Orleans to visit the aquarium. During the drive to New Orleans, the weather got crazy and the streets begun to flood. People were walking through knee length water on Bourbon Street and all the buildings looked so pretty since most of them were vintage and had a voodoo touch to them. It was a really sweet and memorable family reunion. I got to meet his mother side of the family and they actually liked me so it wasn’t too scary. After we were able to catch up on the things that they missed out throughout the years, we decided to go to the aquarium. The aquarium was located in New Orleans, Louisiana which is about an hour to two hour drive, if I remember correctly. Being able to drive for another two hours didn’t seem too bad after driving for 10 hours straight. During the drive, the weather was nice and sunny until we reach the downtown area of New Orleans. Driving through downtown was an amazing experience since I was able to look at all the pretty buildings. Many of these building looks like it came from the Disney movie that was based off of New Orleans. There were building with balconies and they had like a dark feel to them that kind of reminded you of how much voodoo made an impact there. Once we reach Bourbon Street, the rain started to come down like crazy. The streets were starting to flood and you see all these people that were walking on the sidewalks trying to get to higher ground since the water was starting to come up to their knees. After all the flooding, the rain completely stopped after like 20 minutes of nonstop rain, we were able park our car and get to the
