VIII. DISCIPLINARY SYSTEM PRACTISED BY HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM RELATED INDUSTRY IN VIETNAM AS COMPARED TO MALAYSIA. Disciplinary system is a method to measure performance and problems of employee. Disciplinary system also helps to avoid the effect of workplace problems to become worse. Its being a big issue in every company especially hospitality industries because it can reduced productivity and profits, quality control problems, lost opportunities or customers, low employee morale, and high turnover. According to David K.Hayes (2009) by using disciplinary system will also help the company stay out from legal trouble. Vietnamese Labour Laws prevent the employers from any discrimination of the employee’s gender, nationality, social class, beliefs or religion. Because of that, industry hotel in the Vietnam employers are strictly prevented from doing a discriminatory behaviour towards female employees which can damage their dignity and honour. Employers are required to implement the principle to ensure their safety and comfortability to work at the company. DISCIPLINARY SYSTEM PRACTISED BY HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM RELATED INDUSTRY IN MALAYSIA According to Shafie Halim (1996), company will take action by disciplinary system after the employee make a mistake that does not comply with law and policies in hospitality and tourism industry of the company. In Malaysia, the employers consider to follow the step of procedures before terminate their employee as a fair disciplinary practices for the employee. It is because the employers wants to give a second chance to the employee and give a time to them to follow the policies of the company. It also used by hospitality and tourism industry in Malaysia that are more effective and standardize with other companies. The step of the procedures before terminate are : • Verbal warning • Written warning  First warning : yellow
