Competency
Identify competencies and skills to improve - What do you wish to do better so you can learn more effectively?
There are five skills I hope to improve on in order to learn more effectively. These skills include time management, organization, communication, collaborative relationships, and stress management. Time management is a key skill in order to accomplish tasks in a timely manner. Due to the immense volume of information I need to process, I believe time management will allow me to balance my time and duties. Additionally, organization produces order and structure. This allows the information to be arranged in a sequential manner, so I can connect the dots. Most importantly, I can see the big picture by organizing the information

Often, it can be uncomfortable to ask questions and start conversations. I can reduce or eliminate these barriers by practicing with family and friends. On the other hand, a lack of knowledge can be fulfilled by seeking assistance from professors, peers, or other authorities who are knowledgeable in the topic. If coping mechanisms do not yield any results, a psychologist or mental health specialist may alternative ways to decrease stress.
Progress Evaluation
How often will you review your plan? How will you know you’re on target? When would you make any necessary adjustments? I will review my plan at the end of every month. This will allow for sufficient time to see if my planning and organization skills have allowed me to maximize my skills. I will know if I’m on target with stress and time management through my levels of stress and if I am able to accomplish my tasks based on my time allocation, respectively. Correspondingly, I would also make the necessary adjustments at the end of the month.
Action Plan Revisions
How will you evaluate your progress and how will you get feedback? From whom? When and how
Evaluation and review should be an ongoing process of learning, embedding a process of continual improvement and development. The key to evaluating is knowing what we are measuring. We cannot monitor and evaluate the team’s progress towards agreed objectives without clear advance planning of what we want to do and how it will be achieve. Effective strategic and operational planning, incorporating clear measurable objectives, is therefore an important

Kimora was in a good mood when the QP met with him for a session.
5. Plan to have my 2017 goals put together by 1/27, giving myself a whole extra week right now due to the kick off meeting next week. Sent to Keith on 2/3 and spoke quickly about them with him today.
It consisted of a time schedule detailing my plans in order of what I was going to do that day. I wrote a rough action plan of what I wanted to do for the practical performance before I had met up with my model. After meeting her and taking test cuttings of her hair, it was clear that I would need to carry out a colour correction and therefore change my action plan. I also made small changes to how I planned to do my adaptation and so I applied this to the action plan too. Once I had made the changes, I had greater clarity and understanding of exactly what I was going to do and the amount of time I had to do it. I followed my action exactly as I had written it and this allowed me to manage my time effectively and even finish earlier than expected. I consider my action plan as being of great benefit to me as it prevented me from straying from my plans and therefore avoiding any failings during the practical performance. I felt my action plan helped me to feel calm in a situation where I might have felt under pressure due to time constraints. Knowing what I was going to do and how long I had to do it, gave me sufficient control and I could therefore project manage the practical performance of the Graded Unit. I find that the action plan is a great way to help me analyze how well I could project manage and carry out the practical performance as I can review the plans that I made and if I followed them and stayed on schedule or whether I needed to make any changes. If changes were to be made on the day, the action plan would have helped me to stay calm by listing everything I wanted to achieve without forgetting
When does the Executive committee focus on revision to the profit plan and the second year forecast? What activities & information lead upto the June revsion?
I took a keen interest to run the branch with high enthusiasm and excitement, which helped me acquire skills that enabled me to contribute towards the organization’s growth, profitability and ultimately new business. I had learned to establish a solid customer focus as mentioned above through my previous experience in sales capacity, which I carried on to set a salutary exemplary for the team.
The first skill that I taught myself was to always be determined. This helped me greatly, for it put me in the right state of mind to continue my work at a high level. At some points, this determination led me to surpass my own expectations and achieve higher than what I had originally thought. Secondly, this experience helped me learn that I am adaptable. I couldn’t let this affect my future, life is too precious to waste it grieving over what was lost, but to embrace the new doors that open up. I had to learn how to become a stronger, and better person mentally. This had helped me adapt to a new life style, making myself a better person and improving on things that will help me later on in life. Because of this, I realized that I could overcome most obstacles that are placed in my way, and produce better work when faced with these obstacles. Thirdly, I learned how to be a mature person and grow up faster than I had ever thought. After this experience I realize how short life really is, and there is no time for me to waste in accomplishing my dreams. So I had to get back to work, and continue to strive to be the best. All the work that I had accomplished was improving. Only showing how I wont run away from a challenge, but rather embrace the obstacles in my way to become a stronger
In this report, I will reflect on my professional development throughout this module, from when I started in September, to now. According to Beausaert et al. (2011), ‘the art of self-evaluation is an integral element of reflection and involves critical insight into understanding one 's strengths and limitations’. Therefore, my aim is to identify my learning needs and to recognise my personal skills and capabilities, as well as identifying areas of my skill set that need to be refreshed or extended to stand out in the competitive job market. By doing this, I hope to demonstrate knowledge of the skills that I have gained during this module.
- Some elements of a plan that perhaps I would engage in are internal trainings regarding effective listening, communication, and organization as well as external seminars, courses and readings to continue to develop me both professionally and personally.
An important question to address when attempting to identify effective study strategies and their relationship with academic performance is, “What are study skills?” The term “study skills” can be defined as proficiency in identifying, organizing, memorizing, and using information in order to succeed academically (Proctor, Prevatt, Adams, Hurst, & Petscher, 2006). Activities identified as study skills include “time management, setting appropriate goals, selecting an appropriate study environment, employing appropriate note-taking strategies, concentrating, selecting main ideas, self-testing, organization, and managing anxiety,” (Proctor et al., 2006). When studying, college students employ a variety of these study strategies that they believe
Professional competence can mean various things to different people. Competency in any career or profession has many basic requirements that are learned in a classroom environment as well as many essential elements that must be learned through formal, on-the-job training in order to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to function adequately as a professional in a workplace setting. Competency in the counseling field is not a ‘once learned, always known’ type of knowledge; it requires a combination of classroom education, internship training to acquire confidence, knowledge, skills, and experience, and an obligation of continuing education on a life-long basis.
Meaning of the Term “Competency” Competency has its origins in the Latin word 'competentia' which means is authoritative to judge as well as ―has the right to speak‖ (Caupin et al., 2006: 9). The English dictionary defines the word ‘competence’ as the state of being suitably sufficient or fit. Trying to draw a fine line between the words such as proficiency, capability, capacity, competence, competency/ competencies is even more difficult and creates confusion (see examples in Byham & Moyer, 2000; Cooper, 2000; Mirabile, 1997). Those who invested efforts in investigativing competency are immediately struck by the lack of uniform definitions, compositions, and methodologies which, of course, lead to misunderstanding, wandering,
