Engineering have started from B.C. where architecture have excelled in building with respect to earth people, which is still going on untill our days now. Till now we still have historical buildings which have witnessed all the different cultures and its architectural creations which have differed from one place to another also it have differed in the way they have build it and the way it looks, and this was because it was attached and inspired by the surrounding nature and what the people living there needed from protection and shelter. So what is architecture and its importance? Vitruvius have talked about the orders in his writings Ten Books Of Architecture about the orders and the different styles of orders. He talked about 5 different orders. "Without symmetry and proportion there can be no principle in the design of any temple." Vitruvius, Ten Books on Architecture (III.I.I) is a quote he said about ionic orders which was developed in Ionia on the Aegean coast of Asia Minor in the 6th century. The ionic orders are defined by the spiral scrolls or volutes of the capital and also defined by the slender proportion of the column that have 24 flutes and a base. The spacing between the orders should be two and a quarter times the thickness and the height is nice and a half times its diameter. Vitruvius compared this delicate order to a female form, in contrast to the stockier "male" Doric order. Another order Vitruvius talked about is the Doric order which was a masculine shape where the column shaft is six times the orders diameter which is an image of the man's body. The Doric order is known for its simplicity and unity where it lied on the ground without a base and from the top it had a thick squared slab laying on a circular stone beneath. A third order Vitruvius talked about is the Corinthian order which came after the ionic order. This order is said to be the most ornate of the orders, it have slender fluted columns and elaborate capitals with acanthus leaves and scrolls decoration. The name was inspired by the Greek city of Corinth. In his books Vitruvius wrote that the Corinthian order was designed by the sculptor Callimachus. The top of the order holds the least weight and there is a ratio between the thickness to height, the height to width ratio is almost 10:1. A fourth order Vitruvius talked about is the Tuscan order.
