Visual communication is virtually used everyday in today's society and is important to have in life. Graphic design is used in media, the business and advertisement industry, and in simple things in life that are not easily noticed. Graphic design influences the world of profit-making, but also has an impact on the lives of various groups of people including children, teens, and young adults. Technology progresses rapidly every year. The advancement of technology is in awe because ofthe new and increasing amount of inventions, including mobile devices and social media websites. Most young adults are kept up-to-date with the amount of usage of social media websites with the help of smart phones and other mobile devices. Social media influences young adults to connect with society and the culture evolving today, giving updates on what is in style and other things that young adults are interested m. Some of the most popular social media websites including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram allows people to do many things that most young adults are interested in. This includes connecting with other people and staying in touch with friends. Social media allows people to express what is on their mind or to let others know how they are feeling. Although social media is generally used for connecting with other people, there are many other benefits. In the last 14 years the number of internet users has increased by a whopping 566% and 2,495,518,376 people in this world have access to the internet. 70% of them use the internet on a daily basis. On average that 70% will spend 3.2 hours daily on social media, such as Instagram, Tumblr, Google+ and YouTube.
When Facebook acquired the app for $1 billion in cash and stock in April 2012 many stood up and took notice. The social networking service enables users to take pictures and videos, edit them with filters, and share them across a variety of social media. Instagram’s feed is designed specifically for visual stimulation and to encourage interaction. Since its launch in October 2010, 150 million users have signed up and shared a total of 20 billion photos. The demographic of users is 68% female, who prize imagery, so they are the ideal target clients for us photographers.

The book gave a great example when you see a bathroom sign of a woman in a dress and a man in trousers we understand it the Women’s and Men’s bathroom, even if we are in a different country and there are a language barrier thanks to the graphic design we understand that the bathroom.
