America has had a good and bad impact on immigrants, in many of ways. The bad outweighs the good by far. People of America sees immigrants as different species because we are so ignorant that we often alienate those who are different. People think that they are different and don't belong here, and that they shouldn't be part of our culture and society. Immigrants are thought to be aliens because we think their social ability and culture is wrong. We often think that they shouldn't be treated equal or have the same rights. We act as if the languages they speak are improper because we are foreign to it. We place them in these groups so we can simplify our social world and use it as a way to get over our ignorance and not look uneducated. Thomas Augustine, an English composer and author of “Da Younga Merican” states “He no’ talk Italian, He say, “Dats for Dago speak, I am younga’ Merican; Dago langwige make me seek.” We often make racial slurs such as Dago which is an offensive term to call Italians. Immigrants have had a better opportunity to raise a family, and have the dream they always wanted. They have more choices on what they say, and where they can live, what religion they are, how many kids, and what position they can achieve in the job they have. The “Current Poverty Chart 2011”, states “In the U.S Immigrants will have a lower poverty rate the longer they stay here, and a higher poverty rate the shorter amount of time they live here”. This encourages immigrants to stay for the rest of their lives by telling them that, they will have a lower poverty rate over time and will be able to live a better life. The chart also tells us that even at four years, our immigrant poverty rate is lower than in most countries. You have to live here for about fifteen years to have a normal poverty rate among all percentages of immigrants including natives and foreign immigrants. An immigrant could stay in the U.S for sixty-one years and have only a 7.2% poverty rate, which is below the average poverty rate. If they stay for only four years, they will have a miserable four years because that's the highest point in the poverty rate, the chart shows us that this happens because when people come and go it costs a lot of money from taxes to support them. This is arguable said Maria X Liu, the author of “On Being a Chinese Woman”
