If I Were a Minister of Education

Education is a continues and an commutative process. We as human being are learning all the time and as we learn, we teach. There are main establishments for that process in our contemporary societies ,mainly: home and school. In terms of academic education, a person joins a school and gain his basic knowledge from it. The question is: Is that all what do we expect from schools? What is meant by basic knowledge and how can we define it?

From my point of view, school machinery and environment help satisfying a student basic thoughtful needs in two complement methods. One is supplying them with knowledge and the other is providing them with a professional guardianship that specializes in producing perfect and complete human being as much as possible.

Aphorism says :"eat to live and not live to eat", and in expansion I say: live to learn and learn how to live . There in schools, we live as long as we exist. We have the right to participate different humanity aspects of our life. We need to learn, play, eat, talk, read, enjoy, think, imagine, share, laugh, create and even sometimes we may need to cry. If we do all of these in schools freely and flexibly, then I can say that we have achieved a good education standing .

However, is that the case in our schools? In reality, the situation is completely frustrating.

Einstein said:" It is a miracle that curiosity scurvies formal education.", and in comparison I say:

If the contemporary education methodology itself is killing the curiosity , then what can survive it any more?

There are some negative phenomena start getting regular among high schools students nowadays. For example: throwing and burning books at the ends of semesters, and doing that openly in streets. Anot...

...cience and to improve his/her natural hunch and faculty in scientific research field. Here is a list of changes and modifications in high school regarding this point.

1-Enriching the curriculum books contents with extra topics, ideas, definitions, theories, with contracting solving numerical problems.

2- Asking students to do reports in different topics. These reports titles are totally chosen by the students themselves.

3-Encouraging students to read science fiction novels.

4-To facilitate executing the last two procedures, Students will have a monthly visit to central libraries with their teachers.

.Unfortunately, culture of reading is limited in our society, and thus, visiting libraries is required even in earlier ages. This activity will be my substantial procedure I would take, if I got the chance to be an administrator of education in this country .
