Many people in the world do great things for the less fortunate. Things like donating money to different organizations or volunteering at local shelters. As far as myself, I do the same. Every year between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I decorate holiday baskets filled with goodies. Putting items like blankets, can goods, can openers, fruit cups, hygiene supplies, and flashlights in wrapped woven baskets. Once decorated, I take them down to the New Evangelistic Center and pass them out the homeless. Seeing the smiles on the people's faces makes me melt with joy. It makes me feel like I’ve found my ambition to do something for someone else. Many question the reason why I help people in need, but rather than argue I just show my reason. I want to give the homeless a reason to live. I know I can’t give them the life they used to have or want to have, but I know a simple care package makes them see hope. This is just how I was raised and how God made me. God sent his son Jesus Christ down to Earth to teach the poor about having faith and believing. For instance, in Deuteronomy 15:10, Jesus tells his followers and believers, “You shall give to him freely, and your heart shall not be grudging when you give to him, because for this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake. For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land” ("37 Bible Verses about Giving To The Poor.").
