I-Search Part III- What I Learned Doing this research paper has given me more information and background knowledge about my topic. For the first part we had to write about what we knew, thought, and/or imagined. The second part was about the research. Having to do research about sexuality and how it is determined has made me understand that there is no right or wrong answer for it. Although, at the beginning I believed your sexuality was a choice. I was able to increase my understanding of the controversy of it being about genetics or more of a choice. At the beginning of the research project, I decided to investigate the topic of how sexuality is determined. As far as the topic goes for interest in doing it, it has always been something I have wanted to know. My mom has a few friends that are dating the same sex, so I am around them a lot. This is not something that you can just come out and ask people because some people can get really offended about the topic, so being able to do research gave me a better understanding of the truth. …show more content…

At the time, I did not have anything to backup my reasoning for belief. I was able to base it off of what I was around in my life. Most of my decision was solely based off of thought. I know people can make decisions and choices for themselves in their own life, so why could they not be able to do the same about their sexuality?
There is a lot of debate though about this topic and people are either strongly on one side or the other ("Sexual Orientation."). The debate about the topic can’t be right or wrong, its just more about what you believe
