The topic that Interest me and captivates most of my time is wrestling. Whether it is watching Olympic level matches down to competing and practicing; I love letting it consume all my time. I watch daily matches in my free time and if anyone ever wants to wrestle and practice I am there. The reason I love wrestling and spend most of my time involved with some form of it is because I think that wrestling, as a sport, is amazing and very beautiful. I think it is an art form that many people do not recognize. Wrestling has many little aspects that make it entertaining that some may not find interesting but I find it exciting and wondrous. Wrestling has taught me many lessons in life. The sport has helped me learn to be more creative and think
Bullfighting has been a tradition passed along for many years. It is a sport of baiting and killing bulls spectated by the public in an outdoor arena. But how exactly did Bullfighting begin? Bullfighting originated when the first bullfight was held in honor of King Alfonso VIII's coronation in 1133. It was called a corrida back then. These events eventually became popular for celebrating important events and to test the zeal of noblemen. The bullfight first seen at the coronation in 1133 was popularized in 1726 when Francisco Romero started using a cape and weapons during the event. Some older paintings imply that some type of bullfighting existed before 1133. A wall painting in Crete that dates to 2000 B.C. shows men and women grabbing a bull
I have many things that I love in this life, one of those things is wrestling. I have been wrestling for seven years and I have developed quite the passion and love for it. Wrestling has always been an interesting sport for me. Growing up in Oregon I watched my uncles wrestle in high school. I watched both of them win their state tournament in their respective weight classes, this is one of my fondest memories of my childhood. One of them went on to wrestle division one, I thought this was the coolest thing in the world. I looked up to my uncles and wanted to be just like them. I did not always wrestle though. The process of pursing my dream as of becoming a wrestler started of with basketball, then went to a rocky start, then being on Worland High School wrestling team.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to rise to fame overnight? Shawn Mendes posted a six second video on the app vine in 2013, and woke up the next morning with over ten thousand followers (Biography). But many people don’t know why or how he became as popular and well known as he is now. “It was a mix of hard work and good luck” said Mendes (Hernandez). It didn’t take Shawn very long to be discovered by Andrew Gertler; Shawn's current manager, who then showed it to Island Records, who later signed Shawn in early 2014 (Biography). I chose this topic because I find it very interesting how Shawn grew to fame overnight. This essay will explain how successful Shawn Mendes has become so far, and how he was one of the most successful to come from social media.
I’ve recently become a huge fan of pro wrestling, if only ironically. The melodramatic promos, the ridiculous moves, the muscular men few Divas that don’t make my penis retract into my body. They’re all reasons why I love pro wrestling… at least, I did for a while…
Conor Mcgregor and his friend were in a mall in Dublin, Ireland. While at the mall they stopped at a bookstore to look at some MMA magazines. One of the magazines had Floyd Mayweather on the front page. “Wow” Mcgregor said. “Look at him he is the face of boxing. He’s on top of the world.” Mcgregor was visualizing himself in Floyds position. Mcgregor didn’t have it easy growing up living in the poor middle class and getting bullied in school. The fighting first started off as defense for Conor but, after he started taking interest in fighting and it became all he knew. While Conor wanted to pursue his dreams in the MMA he had to be realistic and look for a real job. So he was working on becoming a plumber. Even though he was about to become
The culture of gymnastics pushes gymnasts to achieve perfection at any moment and at all costs. Even if that costs is spending less time with family and friends. Many gymnasts start to part with their families because they spend all their time training. “Some serious gymnasts opt to leave school to pursue gymnastics. This decision can have major effects on a child's education and future career prospects” (Ryan). [Joan Ryan is a professional sports writer.] Becoming an elite gymnast takes an incredible amount to physical and mental strength and time. Many gymnasts struggle with the concept of isolation with families and friends because those are the people who have pushed them and made them into who they are today. In such a team sport, even
Do you have a favorite sport? I have a favorite sport and it is softball. So many people have many different opinions on what their favorite sport is and why it is their favorite sport. Some sports people like to play are basketball, track, tennis, volleyball, football, and so much more. Theses sports are played differently and that is why so many people like different sports. The sport I choose is softball because of the amazing food, the cool looking attire, and having fun with friends.
The reason why I feel so captivated about the sport is because nothing else makes me more happy than to release all my anger and frustrations that I’ve accumulated throughout the
An interest that brings me joy is soccer. I consider it to be my main sport because I have spent a lot of time playing the sport. I like playing soccer because it is also very dynamic and is a sport that is fast-paced. I play for the California Magic Soccer Club, which is a competitive soccer club. Our team practices for about two hours, three days a week. We also have games on the weekends. Soccer brings me a lot of joy because I get to play with a team and play against other opponents. Playing soccer with a team is enjoyable because I get to play with others that also love soccer. It is fun competing against my teammates in scrimmages and different drills. Playing at a competitive level in soccer is fun as the stakes are higher and there
Wrestling is a huge physical challenge to me. It is the oldest sport known to man. It was one of the original olympics games. It is my favorite sport for a variety of reasons.
As I have matured into the girl that I am today, I have grown in and out of many interests. When I was around the age of eleven I was obsessed with sports. I was outside every day during the summer playing anything from basketball, to hockey. I was captivated by the competitiveness, and I loved to win. Around the age of thirteen I became interested with makeup and other really boring, girly stuff. However, the one interest that has shaped me into the person I am today is my love and appreciation for music.
Theatre. That is the activity that I think of when one asks me what has impacted my life. Theatre is one of the most riveting and demanding interests of mine. From the first moment I stepped on stage, I knew this was the place for me. Musical theatre consists of three major parts--acting, dancing, and singing; which are difficult skills to master, even if you are naturally gifted. You have to memorize lines, choreography, and music notes, all of which are performed at the same time. Rehearsal is a challenging workout that leaves you exhausted! Musical theatre is rigorous; from auditions, to rehearsals, to shows, you are constantly seeking to improve your skills. As one of my directors ' loves to say, "If you feel that your performance was perfect,
Wrestling is my favorite thing to do because it is fun, and disciplines me. I think wrestling is fun because it is challenging, but in the end the reward to win feels so good after a tough and tiring match. To add more onto
Background, identity, interest, and talent are fundamental in who I am as a person. If for some reason I wasn't allowed to include one of these topics, I would feel as if I was missing a major part of who I am. Most topics given are intelligent and challenging to write about, however I believe through the process students start to lack true personal touch and genuine passion. Yes all of the topics require talking about oneself, but students write what they think their readers want to hear. I hope to stay true to myself regardless of the topic. These days it might be cliche to say this, but it's the most simple way to describe my feeling. I am passionate about creativity and life experience in general. Right now you might raise your eyebrows and think to yourself that that's not
What motivated me to write about this event was that I wanted to let my audience know that you can overcome anything. I also wanted to entertain my audience as well as allowing them to visualize my story.
