I Believe A Great Teacher Never Stops Learning

Educating current and future generations involves more than simply imparting common knowledge of core subject matter such as reading, writing, and arithmetic. It is an art and a science that requires a great deal of time, energy, money, and mental and emotional investment on the teacher’s part. The success of education depends largely on the educators facilitating it, the pupils receiving it, the community that understands and supports it, and the curricula it provides.
“If your actions inspire children to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are indeed worthy of the title “Teacher”.” ~ Robert John Meehan
I believe a great teacher never stops learning or reflecting over the work he does and evaluating the quality of his service. In order to provide his students with a quality education he will possess exceptional pedagogical skill, tailor instructional methods to reach all learners, establish a strong rapport with students and families, and partner with colleagues, families, and the community. I am committed to providing my students a safe classroom environment that is organized and free of clutter. With that said, on their own, curriculum, community involvement, educator pedagogy, and student accountability will amount to little unless God is involved. The Bible clearly states “Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it. Except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” (Psalm 127:1). I believe in the power of prayer to change my students’ lives for the better and I have seen the evidence of these prayers many times. When I spend time praying for each of my students and asking God to guide my work, my students will receive a quality education because God is the builder. God has put me in the business of educating children; with Him, I and my students will succeed.
