I Am Someone I chose the poem "I Am Someone" by Annastasia Aressia. The author use simplistic words in this poem, which it is a multiple understanding meaning. Each reader can have an opinion on what it is being read, I will give details on the sentences that shows general meaning. Her choices of words were a few, but very mean full. For example, in example of line two, “I walked past a dead face.” She, the author, starts using these words by explaining that she is in a terrible life time, going on hard times in life, by this line at the beginning of the poem; she starts telling the reader that what the poem is all about, it has some kind of sadness ideas. In line three “even though the person was alive” she shows the irony of life and the order of life. She shows that for one thing to live another must die. Yet, on the other hand she also shows the important thing that a life means because it says that she does not says if she is alive or not; she still suffering from something, but she still awake. Also, in sentence number four and five she says some similarities “I saw my eyes in the mirror and cried at the sight” I think that she means that she looks back her self and she still in a bad moon. In lines thirteen and fourteen “when I thought about love, I got hit bad” She means that not everything is loosen there is always something that it not there but It could be at any time. In the following lines it starts to contradict the meaning of the poem by saying differences and opposite things such as lines twenty-one and twenty-two, “I realized I was strong when I didn’t cry when it hurt.” Means that not everything is over because she notices that she is really a person, as same as other people, strong, she is someone. Finally she explains that she founds who is she, what she was doing and she also noticed that it is a someone who has a personality by this words; “I thought I was lost forever when a friend found me.” Line twenty-five. The title of the poem is a very good point. The title describes the poem almost to perfection. The title “I am someone”, it shows the grand main points of a life.
She starts by telling us what she thinks the dead are doing. She is putting this picture in the reader’s head of dead down by the river drinking to start out the poem. The second line and the beginning of the third line talking about unburdening themselves of their fears and worries for us makes the reader think of someone that has passed that they knew. By saying this, she is trying to get the point across that the dead are thinking of us, like we think of them. The thought of the dead still caring and worried about us will later be strengthened in the poem when the writer starts using memories in the poem. Mitchell then says “They take out the old photographs.” she starts using memories to start making feelings more deep. Lines four and five continue this, stating “They pat the lines in our hands and tell our futures, which are cracked and yellow.”. These lines contain a metaphor comparing our futures to something cracked and yellow. Her directly stating that our futures are cracked and yellow, gives a very depressing vibe. This is foreshadowing that she is depressed about something, that we will later find about at the end of the poem. In the first five lines of the poem, the writer is talking about the the dead and what they are doing. Even though she doesn’t really know what they are doing, she puts a picture in our
The entire poem is based on powerful metaphors used to discuss the emotions and feelings through each of the stages. For example, she states “The very bird/grown taller as he sings, steels/ his form straight up. Though he is captive (20-22).” These lines demonstrate the stage of adulthood and the daily challenges that a person is faced with. The allusions in the poem enrich the meaning of the poem and force the reader to become more familiar with all of the meaning hidden behind the words. For example, she uses words such as innocence, imprisonment and captive to capture the feelings experienced in each of the stages.
The opening line “I cannot let you die” (Line 1) represents how much the persona loves the reader and wants that she/he should not die. Immediately, the persona explains her love by saying “I block factual death” (Line 2). This shows that she doesn’t want you to die and she could block death with any fact. Again the second line ‘I’ is used to explain the persona’s love with ‘you’ that she can use any fact to block the death. The binary of “I” in the first two lines and use of ‘you’ before the last word “due” explains the relationship between ‘I’, ‘you’ and ‘death’ in the second line. The binary use of ‘I’ in first two lines and closing them with rhyming words ‘die’ and ‘death’ create the punch line of the first stanza that no one wants his/her loved ones to die and they could try to block death using any fact they can. The link of first two lines in with line 7 and 8, that by blocking death she will “There fix you shining / In a place of sun” (Line 7, 8). The interesting link between the first two lines of Stanza 1 and last two lines reinforce the feelings of love and hate for death that everyone will block death to let their loved one shine like the

She had different views on her life and all of the sudden the smallest things she used to take for granted meant so much to her. The poet mourns the death of his loved one and wants the world to grieve with him. His wants his subjective to be objective. The first stanza links everything to noise. He wants to 'silence the piano ' for example, showing how he wants no more noise in the world. Throughout the poem, there are many imperatives. This relates back to Remember, where the poems title is included in the imperatives. The third stanza has no imperatives at all, and many antonyms. This is the poets way of saying they meant everything to him. The second stanza uses 'scribbling ' to personify a plane. The use of personification in the poem links back to Do not go gentle into that good night. The first stanza contains references to things that can be easily done like 'stop all the clocks '. The second has things that are theoretically possible but a bit harder to do. The poem seems to get less and less realistic as it goes on. The final line, 'For nothing now can ever come to any good ', is quite bleak, showing how the death of his partner has affected the poet. It gives him no good feelings
Migration have tendency to grow, so the numbers of migrants keep increasing whit every year. Almost a half of the migrants are women. Migrations can be examined from to aspects- it promotes people developments and it can also disturb developments. Migrations for some people are only chance to fulfill their dreams and escape their lives, but for others migration can make their lives more miserable than they were before. Gender talking about migration is essential element, because it shows why people migrate and what their destinations are. The main areas from which people migrate are Africa, China, Philippines, and India. Migration can be external or internal. Everything that is around us- actions and other people that make society where we live in, can impact decision of people to migrate to other places.
Today if we go to any part of the country, we will see people from different places coming and residing in a community different from theirs. The reasons for migration are many, but the most common of all, is migration for labour purpose. Migration within and across national borders has become quite easy. All thanks to enhancement in transportation and communication. This has led to better information flows, thereby, acting as a chief factor for migration.
Migration literature is generouse in approaches and theories explaining migration. The neoclassical theory highlights the role of economic determinants of migration (Lewis, 1954; Todaro, 1976). The new economics of labour migration (NELM) developed during the 80s (Stark & Bloom, 1985) allows for integrating factors other than individual income maximization as influencing migration decision-making. Other theories introduce the idea of status and prestige in explaining migration (Piore, 1979) or the role of legislative factors, of factors related to the emigrant’s social network or of cultural factors.
We notice nowadays the increase of migratory movements all around the world. People leave behind them all what they have and move to another place, often near from their origin places but sometimes it can be very far, in another continent for example. What are the reasons of these migrations? What consequences have they? We will answer to these questions in the following lines. We will begin by showing the reasons and after that, giving the results of this phenomenon.
If you’ve only lived in one country all your life, have you ever thought about migrating and whether it is good or bad? In this paper I will try to explain the good and bad sides of migration from many different perspectives.
