World War 2 was a war like no other. It was a great war that changed the world and killed many people. This war changed the way the war looked at Canada, and the way Canada looked at itself. World War 1 grew Canada’s independence but world war 2 shaped Canada’s independence and gave Canada a new look. World War 2 was a completely different war, this war allowed Canada to show their independence from Great Britain. This allowed soldiers to fight for their country, and not Great Britain, showing a new side to Canada.
World War 2 was a war that lasted from the 1st of September 1939 to the 2nd of September 1945. That’s 2 years longer than the first war. This war was started by Nazi Germany when they invaded Poland. This was the largest conflict in history that impacted every inch of the earth, including Canada.
World War 2 had a great impact on every aspect of Canada Today. Money became stronger, our power was at its peak and we were an independent country surpassing many countries. Canada was impacted in ways no one would have thought of. World War 2 impacted Canada Politically, Socially and Economically.
Canada was impacted very well politically, events leading up to the war like the statue of Westminster allowed Canada to join the war on our own decision. Canada was a powerful country that was in the lead, during the war Canada had the 3rd largest navy. Canada had millions of soldiers fighting but there were many casualties on are navy. Canada had to find a way to get more Canadians to join, so conscription was brought up again to the people of Canada but French and English lines would have torn like they did during the first world war, so conscription was cancelled until the end of the war when they desperately needed soldier...

Last but not least politically, by making Canada a more independent country and giving Canada a recognizable identity. If the war didn’t happen we would still be a country that didn’t have much power or an identity and still be stuck behind racial barriers. We wouldn’t still be in the great depression but the great depression would have been much longer if it wasn’t for the WW2.Canda went through so many changes but not as many as it did during this time. All aspects of Canada were impacted and changed because of this war. The war was such a horrific event but out of the horrific event a great country grew and prospered. Now Canada wonders, would Canada be who it is today if this war didn’t occur?
