“To travel is to take a journey into yourself.”- Danny Kaye. For many, living in the same hometown all throughout childhood to adulthood can hold back new ideas of perspectives or growth in life. One cannot be culturally influenced of the outside world by living at home. Being trapped in one location can limit the mind from becoming wiser and opened by surroundings. Thankfully, planes, cars, trains, busses, and boats exist to transport to fresh locations close or afar. Traveling to new settings and atmospheres include different cultures and customs that could be different from the boring hometown. Confidence is gained one step out of the comfort zone. Being in a new place all by oneself can be terrifying. The traveler is so used to the daily lifestyle back at home, that the mind tricks itself by feeling uncomfortable and insecure about stepping out of the comfort zone. It is very important to recreate the mind with openness so the traveler can feel more secure and faithful for what lies ahead. Traveling while being mindful releases the hidden judgements due to the absence of predictable environment and security of reputable connections with culture. It presents an opening into the unknown adventure. The anxiety of the unknown is then exposed, which increases the chance of lenience for risk. This then, creates fresh choices from relying on faith to increase self- confidence. Traveling is able to increase confidence, by doing the unimaginable that’s not available back at home. Whether it is climbing in a volcano, hiking on the edge of a cliff hanging over the ocean, or even swimming in a nudity beach access. Gaining new cultural lifestyles increases confidence.
