When children grow up they start straying from their roots and begin to mature, and as children mature they grow out of their parents ideas of who they should be and actually become their own person. As a growing teen I and many others can agree to this, for example when I was younger I used to go to church with my parents and accepted the ideas of my parents religion, but when I started to grow up I began to grow out of that religion and stopped believing the beliefs. With that my parents kindly accepted that idea and let me mature into the person I wanted to be, but in the book Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe the son of Okonkwo (Nwoye) starts growing out of his family and religious roots and starts becoming his own person.
