Sport has had a big role in my life. It has helped me become the person i am today. Most sports that i have participated in throughout my life have been team sports, therefore i have learnt to work with different types of people in different types of environments. An example is cheerleading, this is a very stressful sport where everyone has to get along or else what you are trying to execute will not work. This has affected who i am because without this i would not be able to communicate properly with others and in the future i will be able to adapt to different opinions and personalities.
My social influence is family, they have had a role in me playing sport because when i was younger my parents decided that i had to be doing a sport all the time. This decision my parents made, impacted my involvement in sport because if i didn't like a sport i would try something new, here as most people would just quit the sport. My school has had an impact in my sport because at my primary and intermediate it was compulsory to do swimming sports and cross country. This was because of the environmental factor that we had access to a

without sport i would not be me. working in teams has made me confident in a social environment. In cheerleading if we did not voice our opinion on what we thought was going wrong or affecting our performance, nothing would get fixed. this is the same with everything else in life, if we do not speak up we will not get heard. Mentally and emotionally sport has helped me alot. when doing physical activity endorphins are released making me feel happy. If i have a bad day, then do physical activity i immediately forget about what has happened and focus on what i am doing. Sports have also had big effect on my physical well-being. Without doing the fitness involved in sport i would not be as healthy as i am today. Being committed to a sport mean that i have to eat healthy and keep my fitness levels
To me the role of sports in society is for men and women of all ages to grow and develop and be responsible members of society and the community. Sports can bring a community together as long as it doesn 't become the religion of who we are as christians. It also gives us a different setting to interact with each other and learn from one another so we can become better as a whole. Coming together as a community and being able to learn and have fun is probably one of the most important aspects to me when it comes to sports. There should be no reason that parents have to get into arguments because of a call a referee makes in their child 's game. Also sports have become a bigger deal in society then just about fun and learning the sport. A great deal of it, at the higher level has so do with economics and social status’. Players with exceptional talent are now seen in commercials and have huge salaries to play sports or even at the college level earn scholarships to get into colleges for free. I mean hey, if your that good then good for you!
Athletics have influenced my career goals because it has taught me to never give up on what I believe in and what I want to achieve. Sports have also taught me that success comes with hardwork and dedication and in order to succeed in my career I have to be dedicated and spend a lot of time and effort to learn the skill of nursing. Sports have also taught me that in order to succeed in the workforce I need to be able to work with people I don’t necessarily enjoy spending time with, and again this happens in athletics but in the end you need to put your differences aside to obtain the greater
Sports are a crucial part of an individual 's character. Counter arguments made against having sports at schools are getting more and more public. The arguments make people, think again about having students play sports. Sports are useful because they give players skills they can use on and off the field: strength, leadership, and confidence.
In my life, I had not had the chance to be a part of something that influenced me much, until I joined football my freshman year in high school. Joining football was perhaps the most devoted and wisest thing that I did because shortly after joining I began to see changes for the better, and from then I saw the person that I wanted to be in the future. In other words, it shaped the person that I am today and will be for the rest of my life. Not only did the sport influence me but it also equipped me with a new mindset that affects me today in my decision making skills, time management and many other beneficial life virtues. I believe that these virtues will bring me success in the nearest future because I feel confident about myself and I feel more in control in my life through my actions, all thanks to simply joining what seemed to be a “regular” extracurricular.
...llets under here are a few of the benefits,1; Weir, 2011,14). “The exercise or activity allows one to maintain a healthier weight. The muscles are more firm, they have better shape, they have better tone so when we look in mirrors, we feel better about ourselves so that is the emotional thing,” Kathy Tucker (personal communication, May 7th, 2014). Exercise can also alleviate anger and frustration, as well as, give a person a sense of achievement (Exercise and Mental Health, n.d.,bullets under here are a few of the benefits, 4,6).
Throughout my life sports had always had a huge impact on me.I have been playing baseball since I was 5 years old. In high school I have played baseball all 4 of my years being at Watsonville High. Playing sports at school gives you the experience of making new friends and having fun playing the sport you love and representing your school. I have also noticed that playing a sport during school also gives you the stamina to keep your grades up because you want to be able to play the sport you love. Playing baseball in high school will help you improve because you practice almost everyday and you are constantly trying your hardest. I have contributed a lot to my team because I am always going to practice trying to get better. I also know that
Sports play a very important role in my life ever since I could walk. My interests in playing sports began at the age of three as my parents signed me up for soccer, flag football, basketball, and lacrosse. First grade started my competitive edge as I began to play for travel teams in various sport tournaments. This competitive edge transferred from the sports field to the classroom having teachers and coaches helping me be the best I can be. Sports have continually well-shaped and defined my character by teaching me how to accept a win from working hard, also how a loss is an opportunity to learn and fix mistakes.
It will encourage students to try their best to accomplish superior grades. It opens their eyes in a different perspective on behavior as well as stronger scholastic peer relationships. It gives students activities excluding school work, because teenagers generally focus their mind on unacceptable actions. Parents commonly show passion along with appreciation when their child/children play a sport. They get to have a closer relationship and be elaborate with them more often than normal. Frequently, students do not care about their reputation or acknowledge the adults’ opinions on themselves; but in my opinion, playing sports and being mostly involved with their schools presents an improved character while in school and once they graduate. I was once told that “Sports do not build character. They reveal it.” Additionally, self-esteem in high school is hard to come by, occasionally sports help! Sports cause you to interact with other people and uplift you to do better. It presents a sharpened perspective on your schoolwork, career, future, and life altogether. In some cases, playing a sport can benefit you in an enhanced form. Scholarships can be a broad opportunity for valuable players with a good education on their shoulders. As well as, college recruitment can be another option. Money is hard to come by for college and if that seems to be a struggle for a student playing a sport can help tremendously. That
Sports can help many at- risk youths. In order to participate in sports you need to be committed and willing to work hard. You also have to learn to respect others and accept that winning isn’t the only measure of success. Losing can build character as well. When youth participate in a sports they enjoy, they are less likely to engage in behaviors that are harmful or dangerous to themselves and others. It is for these reasons schools should strive to maintain athletic programs for their students.
Doing what you want to do is more important than doing what other people want. Societal influences is something in society that can effect your opinions on something. There are a lot of societal influences that surround sports and sports players. These social influences can effect people in positive and negative ways. The three societal influences that I am studying are media, family and popular views.
I believe that physical activity will improve one's health in two aspects – the physical state of one's body, and the mental health of the individual, both of which are crucial in maintaining the well-being of a person, and taps onto other domains mentioned in the Healthy Lifestyle Index Report (such as BMI, sleep, stress and depression).
