The act of being inspired by something revives my essence with grace. As a little girl I looked up to my Hispanic heritage. I would dance folkloric, sing, and wear huipil dresses. My heritage inspired me to celebrate my culture and be proud of where I came from. My family came from Mexico, coming from a poor country. I was born into a country that came with privileges, and that made my heritage inspired me. This has helped me grow as a person in my life. For this reason, my mom, career, and courage inspired my life. Each one has stimulated my sense of ability because it has created me into the person I am today. Each inspiration has taught a lesson in my life that reinforces my aspirations. My mom, career, and courage are the strengths that …show more content…
By working in this field, I experienced different situations daily. For instance, a client came into the salon who was feeling down about herself because chemotherapy took a toll on her skin. By listening to her tribulations, I recommended facial creams that helped her feel beautiful about herself. She said, “I have cancer, and no one has made me feel great about myself.” It touched my heart that I could make my client realize she has beauty, and I gave her an escape from her illness for a short time. Being able to work in the cosmetic industry has opened doors for me. For example, I worked for Sephora and was promoted to be a coach. I regularly taught various makeup classes and became the top coach for my district. I was featured on Sephora’s website for a month, and that feature has built my career. Not so long after, one day at work I spotted a TV reality star from Little Women of LA. I approached her as I would any client in the store. After showing her featured products in the store I received some business advice, and I was invited to a seminar. That experience with the reality star has boosted my confidence. These experiences showed that I can go after what I want and conquer my professional
This strength, in particular, influenced my decision to pursue social work as a career because cases will often be complex and I know that changes do not occur overnight and positive results only occur within time. I mastered the strength of being patient because growing up with an older sibling often requires you to learn patience. One aspect I realized was I don’t get frustrated easily and that is because I can be a patient person. The second strength I possess is being empathetic for example when a friend or family member shares something that may not be going to good in their life I like to pretend I am in their shoes, I like to provide empowerment and also be relatable, often times when one of my friends is upset over a situation I tend to get upset as well. I like to look at events through a sociological lens so I can better understand the situation. The last strength I possess is dedication, I feel this will influence my decision to pursue social work because I put my heart and soul into every aspect of my life, for example, I am quite dedicated to my studies, in High School I worked extremely hard to make it into the top ten of my graduating class and by being dedicated to my school work I ended up being number five. I am an extremely dedicated person because I do not like to fail, and I’ll always give it my all until I can no longer do so, I believe I would be a good social worker because I’d be dedicated to my client trying my hardest to provide the best of the
My five strengths according to the strength finder include; balance, this helps me be aware of treating all people equally regardless of the situation. I am neither in anyone 's favor or against anyone as this to me is selfishness and individualism. This would result in a situation where some people scale heights due to connections while others are lagging behind. I believe that a consistent environment where the rules apply to everyone is the best for individuals to function best (Rath, 2007). Flexibility is my next strength. By knowing that things do not always work out as planned has helped me change the tactics of how I perform my tasks. I do not always expect to have a smooth flow of opportunities or accomplish goals, but
What are your children 's strengths? The biggest strength that all my children hold is their ability to be self-reliant. My children do basically everything on their own and therefore they barley want me to do anything for them, in a way that is kind of sad, But I have to realize I do not have babies anymore.
Culture and traditions have shaped my identity by the music I listen to, the way I talk, the languages I speak, the foods I eat, and the occasions I celebrate. Coming from a Hispanic heritage has influenced me greatly, my ethics and morals are partially based on my and my family's background. Because of my culture, I am able to speak and understand Spanish, cook and eat Hispanic dishes, and understand the meaning of Spanish holidays.
I was born into a home, to parents who fostered a deep appreciation for culture, not just my own but all cultures. They taught me that every people and ethnicity contributes something beautiful to the human experience through their music, wisdom, humor, food, architecture, knowledge, and humanity. Perhaps their love of all cultures made me appreciate my own so profoundly. I am of Mexican-American heritage, and I carry with me the values of a proud, gentle, hard-working, passionate people.
The strengths I am most thankful for are my natural excellence in English, my supportive family, and my morals. The most rewarding of these three stregths is having a supportive family to encourage me to keep striving for my goals and encouraging me to always be positive. Some of my weaknesses include, but are not limited to, my failure at retaining any information in history, my unorganized work ethics, and my procrastination. Procrastination brings a lot of unneeded stress to my life that could easily be avoided if I worked hard enough.
I have many nationalities, among these are Irish. Scottish, german, Belgian, Norwegian, Swedish and Native American. History is important, especially when it comes to your family. If we ask a family member about our roots, we can learn about ourselves. By asking many of my family members, I have learned many things about me and my family.

My major influence and inspiration is from my father. He came to America from Syria and persevered to become an anesthesiologist, which is a very stressful job. When he first arrived to the states, he would constantly back and forth between New York and Texas to finish his research and residency. He shared a claustral apartment with four roommates and could only afford minimal food. Daily he struggled so that he could provide for his family and offer them a safe and stable life. All of his persistence and determination continually inspires me to work hard and achieve my goals. He is
After taking the Gallup Strength test and having conversations with other people with different strength, I realized how my strengths helped me build my identity. My strengths are Restorative, Responsibility, Strategic, Belief, and Deliberative. These strengths awaken my spiritual eyes to understand what God has created me to be. The Strategic strength focuses on identifying the true route of a problem. The Belief strength focuses on unchangeable core values. The Deliberative strength focuses on personal consciousness of the mind. These strengths evaluates my character as a responsible, logical, and compassionate man.
But the person I mostly look to for inspiration is my dad. I look up to my dad because he has always been there with me through tough times. Just like Theodore Roosevelt I suffer asthma and my dad has been there to help me. He comes to as many as my sports games as possible cheering me on in the stands and taking me on amazing vacations with my family. He also plays with me all the time and helps me with homework when I need it. My dad inspires me because he has won many awards including Emmys and inspires me to do great things in my life ahead of
Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. As Roth states in Strengths Finder 2.0, we as a present day world tend to focus on and try to overcome our weaknesses rather that building up our strengths. Using our natural talents can help us do the best we can and help us be a better asset. After taking the strengths assessment, I found that my top five strengths themes ended up being: relator, discipline, competition, responsibility, and significance.
Have you ever wondered what makes someone (like me) unique? Well, one thing that makes me unique is my parents love for the outdoors. Ever since we moved here, my love for the outdoors has grown. If it wasn’t for my dad and his love for nature I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
One of my greatest strengths at work that I have recognized would have to be my ability to be a well-organized individual. I tend to write what I have to do down on paper and prioritize what is more important to least important. In doing this, it helps me organize and accomplish my work and meet deadlines that are important. A personal strength that I have at home is patience. I am a mother of a beautiful three year old little girl who is a handful. Patience is my greatest strength as a parent and individual which I possess especially being a single mother. I am a dedicated and hard working mother and I always make sure that my daughter gets the love and attention she needs.
My family and family history starts like most people’s. Two people fell in love, they had kids, their kids had kids and so on and so forth. But where we come from and who we are, is a completely different story. From our European roots, to the mixing of our blood once my family migrated to America, my family is quite complex but one that I am proud of and love greatly.
