In history things happen for a reason, everything that has happened has a purpose. Although some of these things could have been avoided and some were inevitable. In the French Revolution people fought for equality. They believed everyone should be born equal not with privileges. They argued that you have to work for success. People in upper estates were treated like royalty; they never paid taxes and never had to work a day in their lives. Although the third estate had to pay off the heavy burden of taxes the upper class caused, they had to work for their money. The French Revolution was inevitable because of unfair inheritance of status through birth, high taxes on only the third estate, and the unfair voting system in the Estates General.

The heavy deficit made did not let people spend their money on items for pleasure, they had to spend their money on food and clothes. “However, the heavy burden of taxes made it impossible to conduct business profitably within France”(219). With taxes rising in France because of debt and only the third estate paying taxes they had to work extra hard to continue to pay taxes, so it was hard to maintain a business because everyone couldn’t afford anything because of the high taxes. The deficit was not the third estates fault, the weak ruler of France never worried about money, “Rather than cutting expenses, Louis put off dealing with the emergency until he had practically had no money left”(219).
