The aim of this report is to analyze the impact of Snapchat that has changed the way people communicate, and also giving a recommendation about how to improve the advantages resulted from Snapchat and decrease the disadvantage that exist on the Snapchat world. Snapchat is a part of huge social media inside the Web 2.0 platforms. Online social networking is another type of communication that permits any computer user to become an origin of data and new innovations that don't require any of their related knowledge (Elmore 2010). Before social media exist, people are communcating mainly through their text messages on their mobile phones or even by email texting. As described by Ross (2013), people tend to spend time more time with their mobile phones, including a social media application these days rather than sending direct email or text messages. It seems that social media like Snapchat provides a fun-basis of communication medium. Beside that, Snapchat does not only changes the way personal users communicate, Snapchat can be used also for businesses to market its products. A business may promote the services offered by sending the actual product directly to the customer. According to The Snapchat Report 2015 - Winning at Media and Marketing in a Mobile-First World (2015), Snapchat can be used into an overall media merchant for supporters and media organizations, for example, CNN, MTV and Vice. Surely it has changed how people and business communicate now and then. Interaction on Snapchat is a picture/ video basis. In snapchat, there are verbal and non- verbal communication. Verbal communication involves linguistic cues. Meanwhile non- verbal communication involves non-linguistic cues. As specified before, Snapchat users can use a different type of emoji and filters to express their own feelings that is classified as a verbal cue. Sexting is sending a nude photographs of themselves to another users over the social media application platforms (Haugh 2014). Furthermore, Snapchat is a good platform for users to do sexting if they use it inappropriately, because snapchat doesn’t have a filter to those nude photos directly from the server. As described by Growth in Snapchat use Sparks Cyberbullying and Sexting Fears (2014), Sexting is a very threatening practice, and unlawful where youngsters are worried as it consist the production and appropriation of child phornography or even sex. Some readers may be asking questions, Why is it called a sexting if there is a time limit in Snapchat for viewing the picture/videos sent by a sexting Snapchat users? The answer is Snapchat provides screenshot to the users, so users can save other users snap permanently. It is so dangerous because it may affect to the pornography law. Adult people who use Snacphat for sexting has a knowledge already or may do it in purpose. However, children who use Snapchat , may directly sent a nude photograph or sexting snap from unidentified users may end up a serious problem for youth. The actual prevention of youngsters taking part in Snapchat sexting is not clear.
