Status 2 It is clear that the fast food industry has changed the American culture and society, and will continue to at a rapid pace. The article Obesity in America and its children affecting the lives of millions by Becky Sorenson further proves my claim fast food is becoming a staple in the American culture. With the popularity continuing to increase, it’s having a negative impact on Americans’ and America's health, and if this increase in popularity continues, then obesity will be even more of a serious problem. The fast food industry has shaped the American culture in so many ways, but almost all negative. In the poem ‘Say no to fast food” the author explains how fast food can bring zits, high cholesterol, and he says how you will notice a difference in the way you feel if you start eating more home cooked meals. In The early 1900s eating out for several meals a day was completely unheard of, and now most americans can't even remember their last home cooked meal. Americans don't realize how much grease is in fast food and all the health risks that come with eating this junk daily. “So unhealthy, all fried food, unfortunately sometimes, we get in the mood” but statistics show that people aren't just getting in the mood …show more content…

America’s fast food industry is taking over and not for the better. In recent years fast food stops have started bringing in “healthier options”, “they will tell you the wraps are good, but still a ton of calories, not made the way they should”. The fast food industry is doing everything in their power to keep profit high, and consumers coming. The fast food business has changed the American culture and society in so many negative ways that it is obvious why they are the main culprit for America's obesity
