Children grow up rapidly from being a newborn to an adult in just a blink of an eye to parents. Children go through a process that that makes them who they are as they develop into a mature person. They start slowly developing their muscles as they discover the way to control it from their legs to their fingers. They go through a physical development from being able just to move their feet, when they are newborn with no control to being able to control it while they are toddlers. Physical development is related to growth in size, strength, and muscle coordination according to the definition of the book The World of Children. As they are growing they are developing their muscles skills they start with their gross and fine motor schools stated in the video “Crawler to Toddler: Baby Instructions”. Gross motor development helps children to gain muscles in the larger part of their bodies such as their legs. The legs are an important part of their body that a baby would need to be able to crawl then be able to walk. With a baby being able to crawl it is time for them to explore their surroundings by using their gross motor skills to be able to move anywhere they want and be able to navigate themselves where they want to be. It helps children gain their muscles in their hands while they hold things to put in their mouth or even clapping. The text book The World of Children the author asserts the words palmar group, pincer grasp, and tripod grasp to define the stages of fine motor skills in the early childhood development. In the palmar grasp the child grasps with their fingers and thumb an object when they are barely exploring the objects which is frim 4 to 5 months. For the pincer grasps they use their thumb and opposite finger and they are around 10 months in this stage. When they are a around a year or older they go into the tripod grasps which is the learning of holding pencils by using fine motor skills to be able to write.
