Middle School is ending and it's almost time to start the next chapter of my life- high school. High school is often depicted as dramatic and stressful, both of which I expect it to be. I have many things I am eager for, many things I am not eager for, and many expectations.
I'm looking forward to the freedom, lunches, and new friends I can make at the high school. As I get older, I get more freedom than I used to. As I moved from elementary to middle school, I noticed that the lunches had gotten more satisfying ,and rumor has it that it will follow that pattern next year. When I came to the middle school, some of the strangers I'd never seen before had become my closest friends. I hope that this is true for high school, too.
Graduating high school was really exciting for me, but at the same time I was apprehensive because I knew it was a significant milestone in my life and I didn't know what to expect with college. However, the freedoms provided by college ending up being wonderful. I love being able to completely manage my time on my own and make my own decisions. I graduate college next May. If I were not going to grad school I would probably be dreading it because I don't think I'm ready for the "real world" and having a 9-5 job yet. So, since I am continuing my education it's going to be exciting since I will be moving to a new state and meeting new people.
I envision high school as an essential stepping stone for everyone. The era where every individual lacks the complete confidence in defining who they are or what they want to be. The four years of high school was the moment and opportunity to seek the interests that stood out to me the most. The experiences you make and the people you associate with are a crucial part of finding yourself.
High school is meant to be the time of your life, but for most seniors just like me it can be some of the most emotional and crazy time. The things in my past make me who I am today, and the things I do now are the first footsteps into the future. I’ve learned a lot about myself in these past four years, and I still have so much learning to do. This is my high school story; the good, bad, and the ugly.
Since I'm coming to an end in my middle school years in a few months, I feel obligated to make a guide to help you youngsters transition to middle school, and even help people who are already in middle school, struggling! Hopefully these tips will help you in your three years of Hell on Earth.
When I go to the High School I want to have fun and learn. Having fun as in, to enjoy my classes and learn at the same time. Learning, well that is easy to understand but could be difficult. Soon I will go to the High School and be a sophomore, but probably not enjoy all my classes. Sum of my expectations of the High School is that I can go play sports, enjoy my classes, and get into more things outside of school that make school not such a place where I don’t want to go.
This is the most important part of school. This is where grades matter most. This is where colleges start looking at people. Colleges are looking for people that are willing to do what it takes to be able to attend their colleges. High school is a little bit tougher and is where there is a lot of illegal drugs. High school ends on a graduation when twelfth grade is completed and the twelfth graders are going off to college. Then college comes. This is where it gets tough. People have to have their own schedules and know what their doing because they are now on their own. Classes are harder than you have ever imagined. You are put to the test of if you are ready to go on in life. Prepare for
An important marker of the teenage world is highschool. In highschool the school work is increased as well as responsibilities elsewhere. It can become incredibly overwhelming, especially now with the pressure of college around the corner. Each year of highschool comes with new challenges. Freshman year is one of the most notable because it is the first year in a new place.
High school is a lot like a marathon. Students start out at the beginning and when the whistle blows runners are on their way. Just like high school it's the beginning and the end. Students start off 9th grade just starting to become an adult it is the beginning. And as you get into 10th, 11th, and 12th grade you grow slowly, and after school has taught you everything, if you decided to take that opportunity they send you into the real world. Here are some of the biggest differences from middle school to High school for most students anyway.
Middle school going into high school is a daunting time for teenagers. It's the time period where most of us make stupid mistakes that we later regret. Some mistakes haunt us longer than others. It's the time where we embarrass ourselves, because we don't have a care in the world. Luckily, I learned a life lesson through one of my embarrassing mistakes.
I've had a great time these past four years of high school. I've had a lot of fun with my class. We have many memories together. The basketball games, the parties, and all the fund-raisers for worthy causes.
Imagine it is one’s first day in high school. Standing in front befalls the entrance way to your new future, thinking of what lies ahead from the perspective of a middle school grad. One would perhaps have mixed emotions as to what to expect. Observing the new students around the corridors, it transpires as if they are dragging their feet to progress inside, for the reason that they are fresh from the blissful summer days; they are in exchange, yet again, to the reality of school homework, projects, reports and tests. Some have queries and doubts in their minds; what does one expect of themselves getting into a high school life such as this? “What remains in store for me, I wonder…” “This school year is going to be subsequently much tougher
...or High was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Even though the school was much bigger than my previous school, I still was able to make it to all of my classes on time and all of the classrooms looked the same as what I was used to. I didn't have any of my friends that I already knew in class with me but that only helped me. It forced me to seek out to the unfamiliar faces in my classes for friendship. Then I could introduce my new friends to my old friends and we could all become friends. The best part of the day was the fact that I could choose what I wanted to eat for lunch, instead of getting hot lunch. AlaCarte was so good and they had so many different kinds of food to choose from. So yes I may have started out my first day of Junior High being excited and nervous, but at the end of the day I was just excited and looking forward to tomorrow.
High school is going to be so much harder than Jr. High school, because there are two semesters and four classes. High school courses are much longer than my classes now. The subjects are going to be much harder like physics and chemistry. So when I get to high school, I will have to be extra respons...
You know, it is really strange how quickly time passes, after spending my whole childhood wishing I was an adult, now here we are and it's a little hard to grasp. It feels like just yesterday I was standing here in the same position at eighth grade graduation. Ahh, middle school, such a joyous time for all of us, free of maturity and not a care in the world. The biggest decisions I ever had to make then was deciding which group to stand with at passing time and choosing which shirt from my extensive collection of Stussy and No Feat apparel to wear. We were all naive to the danger that lurked just around the corner. We were unaware that the carefree world we lived in was about to come crashing to the ground in a blazing inferno of real school work and responsibility ... otherwise known as high school.
I know that even though I have complained and have looked forward to graduating, I will miss being in school. So, I have to say that my high school years are the best years of my life. If an individual really thinks about it, their high school years are some of the best years of their life. While teenagers are still in high school and living at home, they do not have to worry about having money to buy lunch, clothes, gas, or anything else, unlike when one graduates and moves out on their own. As a rule, teenagers do not have to worry about whether a certain bill has to be paid on that day and another bill on that day.
