Every single year, the capitol forces every district to choose one girl and boy between the ages of twelve and eighteen to engage in the annual Hunger Games for the Capitol's amusements. This has been going on for many years until Katniss Everdeen changed everything. Before I tell you how it all started, let me tell you some background about her. She is a sixteen-year-old girl who comes from a poor family. From where she's from, her district is the poorest and dangerous. In the morning of reaping day, Katniss met up with Gale in the forest to team up and hunt together for their families before the event starts on the afternoon.
