For example, in act three, scene six, the Lord mentions that Macduff has gone to king edward for help because he sees how Scotland is suffering. The powers these witches had were so powerful that they impacted and changed the life of many.
Macbeth and Banquo were the main ones that were directly impacted by their prophecies. Their predictions were so powerful that they caused both characters insomnia. In act two, scene one, Both Banquo and Macbeth are unable to sleep because they were thinking about the witches. In a conversation with Macbeth, Banquo tells Macbeth that he had a dream about the witches. “I dreamt last night of the three weird sisters.” (Shakespeare II, i, 19) In response, Macbeth lies to Banquo by telling him that he does not think about them anymore. The witches are able to use their powers to trick Macbeth through three apparitions. If it was not for their powers, the witches would have not been able to make the three apparitions appear to Macbeth or been able to trick him the way they did. The witches made him feel brave, confident, and undefeatable with the purpose of wanting him to be defeated. Since Macbeth believed everything the witches said, he was able to be defeated by Macduff’s army which resulted in his death.
Lady Macduff also had a lot of power. She played a big role in her husband's life. Like the witches, she had a strong influence in Macbeth’s downfall. She was able to use her words to manipulate Macbeth up until her downfall in act five. It is logical to blame Lady Macbeth for the murder of Duncan, since it was her, who planned his death and persuaded Macbeth to kill
