As a person, I am Diligent, positive and intelligent. However I am not very spontaneous. In the future, I aspire to go on adventures and follow my dreams no matter what road it takes me down. My goal is to transform into a more spontaneous and intrepid form of myself(Creed statement). In my opinion, what shapes identity is the type of environment a child grows up in. I think that someone’s identity is formed as a little kid and as a result, it is shaped based on the environment they grow up as. What I mean when I say environment is things like: Their living situation, how many opportunities there are available, the involvement of the parents and many more things. Past experiences and how we learn from them influence the everyday decisions we make in the future. Also, if they are particularly tragic, they can impact the beliefs, opinions, and behaviours we have as adults. The five components I selected reflect my sense of self as they are the most important things in my life. My five components: Personality, Heritage and family, Goals in the future, Strengths and Weaknesses, and Role models, are, in my opinion the five most integral parts of my identity and this reflects on how I see myself. It reflects this because of how out of every component I could’ve picked that is a part of my identity, I chose those five. This project actually helped me learn a lot about my identity. It made me select five components if my identity which I deemed to be vital to my identity and examine it thoroughly and at the same time it made me assign some quotes to relate to my components which further helped me to see my identity through text-to-self connections.
