Recommended: The treatment of jews during world war 2

During the holocaust there was much discrimination going on but not only with the jews but also with homosexuals, Jehovah’s witnesses. Even though 17 million people died in the holocaust 6 million of them were jews. The holocaust came to its name by the greek words ‘holos’ (whole) and ‘kaustos’ (burned) which is describe as a sacrificial offering burned on an altar. Hitler thought that the jews, Gypsies, and the homosexual are going to ruin the chance for him to have the perfect race of pure people. Hitler killed 1.1 million children since they were his biggest fear since they could go up and become a parent and that would mean a new generation of jews and he did not want that. May jewry perish! Was meant literally and will be literally brought to pass if the way fanatics have their way’.....(times).... Soldiers who walked in these camps could not believe what their eyes were seeing. People that looked like skeletons walking around in dirt throwing their own kind in ditches burning them or whatever the Nazi soldiers told them to do. They use gas chambers, they shot people and many other ways just to get rid of them and for him to have his perfect race.

Woe to the people ashamed to grasp them!” Here, Hitler illustrates how the Aryans are “conquerors” above the “despairing mortals”. The Nazi party was led by Adolf Hitler, a manipulative and cruel dictator. Although John Boyne describes the appearance of the prisoners in Auschwitz, he leaves out significant details when describing Berlin’s setting in 1943, what the Auschwitz Concentration Camp was like, and how the people in the camps were treated.

The plight of homosexuals is, perhaps, the most overlooked aspect of the Holocaust. Of all the concentration camps, Sachsenhaussen, just north of Berlin, was the most important in the imprisonment and execution of homosexuals. The conditions under which all prisoners here were forced to live were absolutely inhuman, but for homosexuals it was far worse. As the one group that was despised by both the Nazis and those who were imprisoned within concentration camps, gays were persecuted with the greatest enthusiasm, and because of the taboos surrounding their lifestyle, their tragedy was left unnoticed for nearly three decades.
