In January 1959, Fidel Castro overthrew the American-backed Cuban Dictator, Fulgencio Basista; Castro was then later supported by president Dwight D. Eisenhower’s administration. But as the time passed the Human Intelligence (HUMINT) failed to verify the true intentions of Fidel Castro.
As Fidel Castro worked against the interest of United States (US), Eisenhower ordered the CIA to overthrow Fidel Castro. CIA initiated several raids on Cuba to overthrow the regime. Attempts were made to kill Castro; a brigade of anti-Castro Cuban exiles was raised. The CIA planned in a large–scale invasion of the island. Yet Eisenhower recognized the risks of failure and hesitated to execute the plan and passed it to his successor.
