How Did The American Sniper Impact Me

There has been one movie that has had a long lasting impact on me. American Sniper is a movie about a sniper that killed multiple people in Iraq. War is a hard thing to go through. The reason this movie had such a big impact on me is because the American soldiers sacrifice everything, almost all of the soldiers that come back struggle through post traumatic stress disorder, and because it humbled me seeing what they go through in the war. First, they sacrifice everything. The soldiers want freedom and they want to see the citizens of America walk safely on the streets. They leave their friends and family for long periods of time. I had a friend whose dad served a tour for nine straight months, and the only time she got to see him was over the occasional Face Time. Seeing the joy on her face when she saw her dad in person for the first time was overwhelming. It showed how much the soldiers sacrifice and how much their family is impacted because of that. Most soldiers will go through post traumatic stress disorder when they come home. It is a hard condition to go through and sometimes the soldiers can not get through it. Also, they have a hard time going out in public, if they hear a loud noise their minds could be brought back to the war. They are impacted everyday by this even though they go to doctors and specialists, sometimes the aftershocks of the war can be too much. My grandpa served in the Vietnam War and when he came home he was diagnosed with PTSD.
