Martin Luther King Juniors "I have a dream" speech in 1963 is one of the most powerful speech's of all time. The African American people depended on someone to speak up and he became their voice. The speech resembles a rally for people that want things to change but are too scared to take a stand. The iconic speech is so powerful because what it's saying is so true, it states the reality of black people and it explains how it can be repaired and forgiven, it is almost exposing America for letting it go this far. But this speech was almost like a big war cry calling to black citizens and telling them to take a stand against the egregious treatment that they put up with. Martin Luther King even included specific places that are in the worst conditions like "Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado. Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California." to make sure that they know that he is talking to every single man of color and telling them to join the retaliation. Mr. King made it very clear to the black society that they need to retaliate but not violently and made sure they knew that they want equality not to over throw the government. He directly is talking to the black community in this quote, "I say to you today, my friends, though, even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream." He is telling them that it is rough and that the situation looks hopeless right now but in the future it will get better. He even states, "I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and
