Queen Isabella made religion her priority. She married a king of Aragon Ferdinand and had five kids. four daughters and one son. Catherine of Aragon, Joanna of Castile, Isabella of Aragon, Maria of Aragon. Her and Ferdinand fought for Spain to be Catholic-only, and went to all extremes to try to make this happen. Isabella and Ferdinand instituted Inquisition in Spain in 1480, and this brought about many changes in the church. She was Queen of Spain over for 30 years. Queen Isabella was one of the most important and loved Monarchs in Spain. Queen Isabella worked with Columbus with voyages. She also had empathy for the Native Americans and she set a lot of them free, and return them to their homes. Queen Isabella of Spain, supported the ideal of humanism through her leadership of Spain.

If Isabella had not supported Columbus’s trip, the Europeans might not have discovered America for a very long time if ever. This means that none of us could be living here in America right now or maybe the things we have today would be different, depending on how long or who would discover the America’s. Probably if the America’s wasn’t found by Columbus and send by Queen Isabella, Native Americans would still be slaves and they wouldn’t be treated equally. Isabella worked to keep Spain Catholic has also contributed to the fact that Spain is currently 68% Catholic. Even though Queen Isabella wasn’t always fair in how she treated people-mostly just those who were not Catholic-she did have a certain respect for citizens that set the standard a bit higher. She fought to protect the Native Americans, and had faith in many others-such as Columbus-which impacted the way those in power continued to treat their people
