One of the most inspirational, inventive and amazing poets in the world is Benjamin Franklin. He was born at Boston on January 17, 1706, and educated at Harvard University. Many of his experiences in his early life made a huge impact in his writing and literature. An example would be he used to work in his brother’s Printer shop where he published newspapers and articles. During his time there, he learned how to write and read. As he worked at the Print Shop he discovered how beautiful poetry was, and how easy it was to start learning. The shop was runned by his brother, James, who took in Franklin as an apprentice. “His first enthusiasm was poetry [after all]”. Critics of his time period would say “Franklin was not only the most famous American in the 18th Century, but also one of the most figures in the western world of the 18th Century”, says critic Theodore Hornberger. Likewise, critic George S. Wood also agrees and says, “He is one of the most celebrated and influential Americans who has ever lived”. Not only has Franklin invented new machines, or ideas, but he has left a legacy and showed the world he’s not only known for his inventions. He’s shown, proven, demonstrated, enhanced and successfully displayed he is also an amazing, inspiring and expressive poet! There’s even one critic that wrote a whole song just about Franklin! The song was written by Ellis Paul, and the song was titled, “The Hero In You”. Some critics would say Franklin has proven nothing and all he did was invent, but those never read and saw his work! Yes his work might not be popular today, but his works were popular during his time! (SOURCE) Franklin’s contributions and ideas significantly encouraged major progress in the development our country and improvements that continue to affect society. He showed that with a strong desire and honest and hard work anything is possible. Unlike most politicians, he was a common person. He is also a hero in that he symbolizes hope and possibilities for many Americans. However, Franklin was not a perfect human being, and for that reason, some believe that his face should not grace the $100 bill. His legacy is undeniably a major part in our history and as one of the key “founding fathers” to our society; the fact reminds Benjamin Franklin is distinct figure in our history. Many of the setbacks that Ben Franklin has had in his life are looked at by some people to be considered flaws that contribute to hypocrisy. He was a great individual, maybe not perfect, but he did many things for the well being of our nation. He is one of the frontrunners of modern society with his inventions and discoveries. His experiments go beyond the major things such as electricity, every thing that he has done in his life was an experiment. He tried to be the perfect individual and a teacher of perfection. I think he did a very good job of accomplishing his goals and we should look up to him as being not only a down to earth person, but also a person that has risen to supremacy.

Benjamin soon bought out Hugh Meredith's share. In 1752 Benjamin Franklin conducted his famous electricity experiment with a kite. In 1757 Franklin returned to England as a Colonial agent for Pennsylvania. Next, in the year of 171 Benjamin began to write his own autobiography. In 1775 as a member of the Continental Congress, Franklin advocated separation from England. In 1776 Franklin helped draft the Declaration of Independence, in the fall he goes to France to plead the American cause. Writer, printer, scientist, leader, inventor, and “rebel with a cause” are few of the many careers that Benjamin Franklin has been renowned for over the years. All of them truly reflect the abilities that he deployed during the birth of our nation. These qualities have also acknowledged a superb leader who serves as a prominent model and founding father to today’s generation.
Personally, I think that Benjamin Franklin was more than just an American hero; he was an inspiration in the past, and to this day he still is. After all, it is his face that’s on $100 dollar bill.
