One of the reasons Bernie Sanders should be president is because he is the most honest candidate in the presidential election 2016. Most of the people who have become supporters of Bernie Sanders have realized how he has shown himself willing to protect and serve this country rather than ruling. Every other candidate in the election has willingly shown how to twist, lie, and find the right position in order to get nominations. Throughout the election Bernie has been more concerned with his own political beliefs than the publics appreciations. The possible candidate has been faced to answer questions on several important issues, Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton have thrown shade and disrespect towards the other in order to make their election
On October 3rd, 2002, Minnesota Senator Paul Wellstone walked unto the Senate floor to give what would be one of the most momentous speeches of his career. A day prior, the Senate leadership had introduced a resolution, backed by the George W. Bush Administration, to authorize the President to attack Iraq. Wellstone, a progressive Democrat, had long been noted for his strong anti-war views. However, he was at the time struggling to win reelection, and a vote against the popular resolution could sway the election in his opponent’s favor. Yet instead of joining the bipartisan chorus for war with Iraq and abandoning his anti-war convictions, Wellstone chose to stand as a “monument of individual courage” and raise his concerns about the direction of American foreign policy (Kennedy 223).
A young man sits solemnly at a desk in front of a wall full of books, holding eye contact with the camera for the briefest of moments before lowering his eyes to the papers before him and beginning his speech. The young man is Ted Kennedy, and the speech he is about to share with the camera and with his viewers will come to be known as the Chappaquiddick speech. Following the car crash that claimed the life of Mary Jo Kopechne, and the court cases, the speech was intended to tell Kennedy's side of the story. He wished to explain his actions to the nation and to seek forgiveness from his people. The speech was televised at 7:30 pm on July 25, 1969, broadcast live from Kennedy's father's library, and reached the roughly 96% of American homes with televisions.
Bernie Sanders, current candidate for the President of the United States, Democratic party affiliation, believes that all students deserve the opportunity to receive an affordable, quality education from the earliest stages of schooling to high-level degrees. He has sponsored bills to make public colleges and universities tuition-free, as well as to drastically reduce interest rates on student loan debt.
In the United States 2.2 million citizens are incarcerated on felony charges. Laws in America prohibit felons from voting. As a result, on Election Day 5.3 million citizens of America are disenfranchised because of crimes they once committed. Though they once broke the law, they have served their time and have been punished adequately in accordance with the American Justice System. Felons should regain full voting rights after their stint in prison.
John Forbes Kerry is the candidate I would chose in the up in coming election. Some of the issues that would decide my vote are environment, the economy, homeland security, social issues, and Iraq. I would also vote for John Kerry because he has done good things for Massachusetts and I know he will do good things for this country. My last reason for voting for John Kerry is because he will bring our troops home safely. On November 2, 2004 I would vote for John Kerry.
Although John Kerry's race to the White House is a definite challenge that will be hard to tackle, it is one filled with fruitful returns if achieved. John Kerry will need to be an individual that sets him apart from the other running candidates by addressing key issues that are pertinent to the highest percentage of voters in the United States by learning from the past. On the other hand, as a democratic candidate, John Kerry should uphold the new democratic view of being a moderate while using the media and other mediums of communication to his full advantage to achieve support for his political platform.
Bernie Sanders, a United States Senator from Vermont, is running for the presidency in 2016. Being 74 years old, Bernie has much experience in the political world and has many bright ideas for the future of the United States. Democratic and straightforward, Bernie is taking on the world supporting the middle-class and trying to stop the billionaires from buying the elections and candidates. Bernie has a set of consistent principles that he has gone by during his whole political life. ‘Bernie Sanders – The President We Need’ is the campaign ad, which has been seen by over 300,000 people. In this ad, Bernie Sanders uses effective speech language, facts and statistics about the political world, and video clips in order to show his supporters what he is doing to gain more supporters so he can become the future President of the United States.
On May 26, 2015, Bernie Sanders announced his candidacy for president of the United States of America. During a time of political corruption, economic inequality, and social unrest, the American people hope to elect a president that will fix the country’s issues and improve upon the current state of the nation. Primary elections will occur within the coming months, and the general election will take place soon after, so candidates, Sanders included, have begun to campaign. By utilizing the rhetorical appeals of ethos, pathos, and logos; emphasizing his most important points through his word choice, voice, and body gestures; and establishing himself and American citizens as equal, Bernie Sanders explains in his speech his plans and hopes for America and strives to gain popularity and votes from
Bernie Sanders is the former senator of the state of Vermont and is currently running to be the democratic representative in the 2016 Presidential Election. Bernie Sanders has stated that he is a socialist democrat but it is unclear whether he is either a socialist or a liberal. His statement is unclear because on some topics he takes on more liberal view than a socialist view. Bernie Sanders is known for being a strong believer of the government helping out the economy more and having the wealthy pay more taxes. He wants less poverty in society and help it have a consistent middle class. Two issues that I agree with Bernie on is his views on helping the economy and his views on the war on terror. Bernie Sanders is a strong supporter
Bernard “Bernie” Sanders, is one of the best candidates for this years 2016 presidential election. He is the junior United States Senator from Vermont. He has demonstrated his passion towards an equal and stabilized country. Sanders is a man who believes in a country that is equal and all voices should be heard. Socioeconomic issues are to be heard of by all people because these issues are what make the people and the country. His propositions to a better socioeconomic country will better the relationships we have with one another. Voting for Bernie Sanders, means voting for a country that will be equal to all the people living here. A country deserves to be united by all the people living here regardless of race. We are all human, we all deserve
“We are seeing a great awakening. A national movement of We the People, brought together by what unites us - a shared love of liberty, and an understanding of the unlimited potential of free men and free women” (Ted Cruz Quote). While there are many different opinions on who would make the best president, keeping an open mind and thinking things through is important. You might say, “ This election doesn’t REALLY matter.” or, “Why should I care who gets to be in office?” But this nation needs everyone to vote, and having a solid opinion of what you want, is important. Out of all the candidates, Ted Cruz would make the best president because of his personal belief of making America a safe and great place to live.
This years Presidential candidates are on opposite sides of the spectrum. With Clinton rerunning for presidency and Trump running as a first-time candidate with no political experience has made for an interesting election. Trump is running for the Republican party and Clinton is running for the Democratic party. This election has been viewed by millions because of how intense and interesting it has been, but only one has caught my attention. In this election, I would vote for Trump based off of what I consider to be the best option concerning what he brings to the table.
My candidate is age 27 with a family background of having to work hard to get what you want instead of it being given to you. My candidate worked for a respected and honorably recognized business. My candidates name is Peter L. Schlosser who has been slowly gaining respect from people around him to run for president.
I think a candidate that would be better for the job would be is John Kasich. Because he isn't crazy and his policies actually make a little sense. He wont die in office like Bernie and isn't a criminal like Hillary. Ted cruz has a 10% flat tax plan and says. “trusTED.” So John is the only reasonable option.
Before making a firm decision to make this man President of our country, I imagine it would be appropriate to investigate his background a little more in depth. Al Gore was born on March 31, 1948 at the Columbia Hospital for Women in Washington (Turque 4). Gore grew up in Nashville, Tennessee where his father was a congressional representative (Turque 4). His whole life he was surrounded by politics, and since he was a little boy he dreamed of becoming President (Turque 19). He had a great childhood and his parents taught him to be the best that he could be. In 1970 Gore was shipped to South Vietnam to serve his country. On the other hand George W. Bush, Gore’s opponent, never served in a war. Instead, Bush became the head cheerleader at Phillips Academy in Andover Massachusetts (Minutaglio 185). So the question is, who do you think is more suitable to run our country? I believe I would choose a man who was a war hero over a man who was cheerleader. Gore was always devoted to...
