We know the fourteen Apostles were the only ones authorized to pass on the miraculous gifts of the Holy spirit. The some of the gifts of the Holy Spirit were gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues and prophecies. I'm not sure what other gifts the Holy Spirit gave. These gifts were only given by the Apostles and when they died, the ability of given the Holy Spirits gifts were gone. There is no example, no inference, nothing showing or telling us that we have the Holy Spirit working in us as He did during the New Testament times. An example we do have is Philip. He was preaching Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. He sent for Peter and John to laid their hands on them to received the Holy Spirit. From this text, we know only the apostles were able to pass the Holy Spirit. We learn in 1 Corinthians 13 that love is the greatest gift to have and we do know that the gifts from the Holy Spirit will end. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. 1 Corinthians 13:8-10
