Crises in cinema and film industry of Pakistan
Cinema and films are the greatest source of showing and promoting cultures and moral values in the society as well as in the whole world. They shows us that how the people of a specific region lives and perform their activities. As Quaid-e-Azam once said that he wishes more Muslims would enter into the realm of film industry, and he shall always be glad to do all I can to help it. Pakistani film industry is known as "Lollywood". The history of the Pakistan film industry is spread over more than 60 years. The golden era of the film industry was sixties and seventies and that was also the time when cinema made money and it was very profitable business on that time. Many legendary actors were also introduced in the film industry. In this golden era Pakistani film industry produced some of the most memorable and famous films such as "Armaan" and "Teri Yaad". The color films were also introduced in that time but now the Pakistani film industry is going down and working poorly that's why the actors and directors are shattered and they have signed the Indian film. The major problem was that these films were not based on good scripts and seemed like a joke where Pakistani actresses have just to show everything except their acting skills and the male actors were limited to the roles of Gujjar and Chaudary. Lahore, the cultural capital and the hub of Pakistani's film industry which is known as "Lollywood" is the platform for Pakistanis to show their acting skills and to promote Pakistani culture around the world.

...f cheap culture by using flowery words but now the trend of vulgarity and the Punjabi culture in the films are changed and film makers have tried their best to attract the audience towards this industry again. If the scripts of films are related to reality like the novel which are based on drams are getting highest applause from the audience then the dying industry again gain its position and popularity.

Throughout the world when many people think of India the first thing that comes to mind is Bollywood. Bollywood has created a major mark in India and around the world. In 2011 CNBS reported Indian cinema as being $2.2 billion industry which creates 1,200 movies yearly, provides over 1.8 million people with jobs, and has more than 14 million theater viewers daily (Jetley). People who have had little to no expose with Bollywood films may wonder what makes Bollywood films stand out in the global market, and the answer is easily the presence of songs and dances in the films. Song and dance is a creative form of art and has been embedded in Bollywood cinema since the 1930s (Marcoux, and College). Every popular Bollywood film has at least 3 songs and dances sequences , and these sequences allow the characters to freely express their emotions in what is seen to be a “dream sequence” (Marcoux, and College). In Indian films women are represented as the object of men’s desires, and are often seen and not heard. Song and dance in Bollywood cinema allows women to express their sexual desires in a non-disruptive way, specifically I argue that this is attained through women who are rendered as respectable.
Movies are a key influencer in the market of entertainment. In the U.S it is one of largest exports. It currently is consisted of 3 stages which include; studio production, distribution, and exhibition. There are big companies in the current market, they are AMC, Regal, and Carmike Cinemas.
My grandfather has always talked about how much movies have changed in such a short amount of time. His favorite movie, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, is an example of how editing and special effects have changed drastically since only 1982 and even from the early 1900s. Watching a movie from this year compared to a movie from the 1930s, the viewer would notice many differences ranging from effects, transitions and especially quality. When film started in the late 1800s, there was no digital technology to edit films. There have been many contributors in the film industry that have helped evolve film to its digital age of today. Edwin Porter was the first person in film history to create a narrative film. Lev Kuleshov created a technique gives films certain moods to it and can affect a person’s emotions just by the way images are juxtaposed and edited together. Danny Boyle is an example of a modern day director that developed a set of guidelines that a director should reciprocate while filming. Film editing has revolutionized and developed so much since the early 1900s to now because of important contributors throughout its history that developed new technology and techniques.
The term bollywood comes from a genre of film that originated in India. Up until 1931, films were silent. Once sound came to the big screen, Bombay production studios wanted to take advantage of the opportunity. The studio began to produce a series of movies commonly referred to as Bollywood (Bombay combined with Hollywood). These films were often energetic musicals,
In the early years of narrative cinema there was little pressure on filmmakers for the ‘evolution of film forms before nickelodeons’ (Salt, 1990, pp31) as cinema neither became a mass nor high cultural product and was still a novelty but ‘Production companies’ profits were based principally on the sales of longer fiction films’ in the later years (Musser, 1990, pp256) so focus was made for the production of popular narratives so I will show how the early development of narrative evolved from trick films to complex narrative. I will analyse the short film Mary Jane’s Mishap (1903, Smith) and an extract from the seminal The Birth of a Nation (1915, D.W.Griffith).

Film-making is both an art and an industry. Many people were credited for the invention of motion picture. Some major names associated with motion picture include, Thomas Edison, Eadweard Muybridge, and the Lumiere brothers. There were several stages in the making of motion picture.
Since the creation of films, their main goal was to appeal to mass audiences. However, once, the viewer looks past the appearance of films, the viewer realizes that the all-important purpose of films is to serve as a bridge connecting countries, cultures, and languages. This is because if you compare any two films that are from a foreign country or spoken in another language, there is the possibility of a connection between the two because of the fact that they have a universally understanding or interpretation. This is true for the French New Wave films; Contempt and Breathless directed by Jean-Luc Godard, and contemporary Indian films; Earth and Water directed by Deepa Mehta. All four films portray an individual’s role in society using sound and editing.
The history of Indian music extends back many centuries. Traditionally in that period, there were various kingdoms, in which the power was held equally by the king and the temples. This was the division of music. The temples presented religious music to all that wanted it while the kings patronized the separate artists. Music also formed a major part of the theatre. It was very famous as nearly all of India's people had access to it. There were full scale musicals in the ancient Indian theatres. This tradition has been carried into till the recent days, where Bollywood (the Indian Hollywood) films are very music-friendly. Music is an integral part of the movies that are being made. But many movies are now being targeted at the Western society, movies with less music. This is killing India's musical background.
...hey are changing, culture will always be influenced by films just like they have been since the 20’s.
Many people don’t think about it so much, but movies (or just film in general) have become such a big part of our lives that we don’t think much of it because it just feels like a usual part of living. But have you ever wondered why this is, and how far back film started? Movies and film have been around for a long time, have developed in big ways throughout time, and has advanced in such a big and new way to this day.
Hollywood, a metonym for the American film and television industry is located in the West-northeast of Los Angeles Downtown. Due to its fame and cultural identity as the historical center of movie studios and stars, the word “Hollywood” stands an influential venue internationally. Many historic Hollywood theaters are used as venues to premiere major theatrical releases, and host the famous Academy Awards. It is a popular destination for nightlife and tourism, and home to the Walk of Fame. Except the film and television industry, Hollywood is famous of its editing effects, post-production, and lighting companies as well. However, the icon of “Hollywood” changes from day to day, but the position remains throughout the world.
Indian cinema has contributed a lot to the media and the entertainment industry over the years now and moulded the image of cinema in India in the eyes of the world. In the Generation we live in today, India has arrived at a stage where woman and men are treated equally; well almost equally. But there are still people, still industries and certain areas that do look down upon woman till date. And have we ever wondered why? There are many industries and reasons why woman are still looked down upon on. One of the industries being Cinema, The cinema over the years has only portrayed the image of woman as being in the house doing the chores or being dominated by
