The role of God in Brave New World is not what you’d predict for a futuristic novel. To our surprise, Henry Ford plays the role of God. Ford is God for the citizens of Brave New World and for the controllers a teacher of how to create a perfect systematic world.
Henry Ford was seen as an important person in the World States eyes. He was a part of the transformation of the new world with his innovations in the engineering of the Model T. and introducing mass production along with giving consumers options. The Ford Motor Company produced safe and reliable vehicles that were made for everyone. Ford was seen as revolutionary and held to high standard of society in the World State.

It also helped persuade those that had doubts not to question the controller’s judgment, or Ford for that matter and to stay focused on their own happiness.
Ford was honored during Solidarity Services. Unlike what happens in today’s world where individuals go to church to worship their God in Brave New World it is much different. At Solidarity services twelve people, six boys and six girls met and indulged in soma ice cream and soma tablets while singing and weighting for the greater being to arrive. The greater being, of course, being Ford. While getting high and praising to Ford, ultimately the orgy would begin. This was done in honor of Ford and to encourage all to succumb to one another.
Community, identity, and stability are held to high important standards. Henry Ford replaced traditional religion and instilled the importance of these standards. Henry Ford’s T from his Model T was even incorporated into a symbol of worship and the traditional cross was altered to make the letter T.
