In today’s organizational structure many of the organizations realize that business intelligence (BI) can provide solutions and important competitive advantages and thus want to evolve their BI strategies beyond spreadsheets.
I also learned that mathematics was more than merely an intellectual activity: it was a necessary tool for getting a grip on all sorts of problems in science and engineering. Without mathematics there is no progress. However, mathematics could also show its nasty face during periods in which problems that seemed so simple at first sight refused to be solved for a long time. Every math student will recognize these periods of frustration and helplessness.
I am Trang Vu, a student with Business Administration/Accounting major at Los Angeles Southwest College and West Los Angeles College. I have attending at Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) at two campuses above since the spring semester 2014. I feel I am a lucky student because I already knew which my major I would go for before attending colleges. I decided to choose Accounting as my major I realized that I am attracted and amazed by numbers, graphs and stories covered behind them. Since I was a high school student, Mathematics and Physics always had special appeal to me than other subjects. I enjoyed lectures and played with the numbers, I got excited when I was able to find solutions for difficult Math problems and graph the movements of neutrons. I even went on YouTube
Results: mathematic levels are very important in order to define the rate of graduate college with B.S degree.
ABSTARCT-This paper depicts the technology with the business intelligence such as “master data management, benchmarking and BPM” etc. Business intelligence (BI) software is a collection of decision support technologies for the enterprise aimed at enabling knowledge workers such as executives, managers, and analysts to make better and faster decisions. The past two decades have seen explosive growth, both in the number of products and services offered and in the adoption of these technologies by industry. Enterprises today collect data at a finer granularity, which is therefore of much larger volume. Businesses are leveraging their data asset aggressively by deploying and experimenting with more sophisticated data analysis techniques to drive business decisions and deliver new functionality such as personalized offers and services to customers. Today, it is difficult to find a successful enterprise that has not leveraged BI technology for its business.
Before I entered college, I already had an idea of what I want to study and pursue in my future. In Middle school, I found Math and Geometry incredibly enjoyable, and I was always good at solving various quantitative problems. In High School I took my first economics class, and I could not find anything more interesting and engaging than this subject. Enjoying quantitative courses in school and having many family members working in the business field, I made a decision to pursue my higher education in economics and business and I could not see myself in any other field. At Cornell, Economics and Business Department offers a variety of majors with different concentrations. My deep interest in Business Analytics arose after I took my first
In my early teenage years, maths was my weakest subject; studying maths was like a torture with some embarrassments. Until year 11, I attended a private maths class, my maths was swiftly improved,
My long term career goal is to found my own financial company that specializes in applying advanced analytics tools to solve complex financial problems. Having worked as a financial analytics analyst for more than 6 months at Enova Financial, a Chicago-based consumer online financing company, my passion towards financial analytics is reinforced. Ranging from basic data query and reporting to predictive modeling and optimization, data analytics has assumed a more important role in today’s financial services industry. Mastering data analytics could help financial institutions acquire the relevant information in the shortest amount of time and make the informed decisions thereafter. Since personal loan industry is only the niche of financial services, I would like to broaden my horizon of the financial knowledge by gaining a deeper understanding of its principle and its application in order to achieve my loan term goal. Entering a full-time master in finance program, as such, becomes the best option for me.
Howard Dresner of the Garner Group introduced the term “Business Intelligence” in 1989 and defined it as, “a set of concepts and methods to improve business decision making by using fact-based support systems (Debortoli et al, 2014), thus it is an all-encompassing field that uses analytics to process big data. BI is driven by data. It includes data generation and analysis that businesses need to make an informed decision. Additionally, BI is not strictly technological, since it relies on processes and methods (Junk, 2015)
I have always enjoyed mathematics from an early age. As I progressed through A-level, I began to appreciate the importance of mathematics in other science and in commercial life. I believe that a degree in mathematics will leave me very versatile in terms of a future career choice. From 1992 onwards, I was selected every year to represent the school for Hans Woyda Mathematics competition between Home Counties schools. In 1997/98, I was captain of the team. Previously, we have reached the semi-finals of the competition. I have also attained three gold awards in the Sharp UK Mathematical Challenge on the occasions I entered. I have also gained a Merit award in the British Physics Olympiad competition.
The dynamics of our society bring many challenges and opportunities to the business world. Within the last decade, hundreds of jobs have emerged particularly in the technology sector to help keep up with the ever-changing world and to compete on a larger and better scale than the competition. Two key job markets and the basis of this research paper are business intelligence or BI and data mining or DM. These two fields play a very important role in small to large companies and are becoming higher desired sectors within the back offices of the workplace. This paper will explore what the meaning of BI and DM really is, how they are used and what we can expect as workers and learners of the technology and business fields for the future.
When I was 8 years old, I hit the bull's-eye in Mathematics. The class stood up and clapped when the results were declared by the teacher, I never forgot that overwhelming moment in my life, I was so happy and contended, and that day I understood the importance of excellence in life. My passion for Mathematics and Computers led me to choose computer science & engineering specialization at Oriental institute of science & technology. Although I enjoyed learning latest software technologies, I was wanted to apply analytical and technical skills in a real life business scenario. At the end of program I secured a job offer from Wipro Technologies, which came to our campus for hiring.
I come from a family that gives high importance to Education and have always encouraged me to learn new things and pursue my dreams. I received my schooling from BHONSALA MILITARY SCHOOL where a balance was kept between theoretical studies and co-curricular and extracurricular activities. In high school I developed an extravagant interest in Physic and mathematics. My interest further more increased when I started learning application of mathematics to the physical world. I actively participated in Science exhibitions and Sports.
After I finished my bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from University of Mumbai, I joined Vistaar, which is a Pricing Solutions Company that has a strong Analytics tool and a Transaction Engine as its core products, as a Software Engineer. While working on client projects, I learned that companies are willing to pay big money to replace their existing Pricing Systems with what Vistaar offers just because we can capture and portray important pieces of information in meaningful ways. This has ensnared my curiosity and upon delving deeper into the actual client scenarios, I realized that these companies either do not have proper tools or mechanisms to capture information, or have no idea as to do what with it. Over the course of my undergraduate studies, I always strived to come up with a version of the program myself before checking pre-defined solutions and it helped me think out of the box. As a result, I was entrusted with over 7 different projects at Vistaar, which enhanced my thinking and problem solving skills even further. Learning new things and solving real life problems has always been my forte and there is a deeper pool of problems to be solved in the field of Information Management. Hence, working as an Information Architect who can solve data problems and gain more value out of it by leveraging technical and business knowledge has become my career goal. I now see MSIM program at University of Washington as a critical step towards achieving my goals.
