Question One: Nutrition is the study of food and the nutrients we need to live a long healthy life, it gives you a better understanding of what to eat and how those foods effect your body. With that being said, there is a difference in just eating, and eating healthy. Eating healthy means that you balance your time so that you don’t eat too late or too early. Then, you provide yourself with a variety of different foods and activities to avoid mindless eating or getting bored of a certain food and begin to no longer crave that food. And lastly, to eat in moderation this means to eat to ensure that you do not over eat. To better explain this, there are five key principles to healthy eating.

This is because energy dense refers to foods that are high in energy but low in weight/volume, such as a potato chip. It might weigh less than a plan baked potato, but it much higher in fat and kilocalories than the baked potato. This means that the chip gives more energy per gram than the baked potato. This is true for most high-fat foods, because it is 2.25 times more energy dense than either carbs or protein at 4 kilocalories per gram.

This means that in order to live your life to the fullest in the healthiest way possible, you cannot simply follow the 5 key principles of healthy eating, and ignore follow the 5 components of physical fitness. This is because you must burn off the kilocalories you consume in the 5 key principles of healthy eating, to maintain a healthy lifestyle including weight, mental ability, and physical ability. Being physically active is one of the two critically important components of overall health and fitness, you cannot achieve optimal fitness if you ignore one of these. The 5 components of physical fitness include:
(1) Cardiorespiratory endurance: This includes the ability to sustain cardiorespiratory exercise such as running or riding a bike for an extended amount of time. This makes your heart, blood, lungs work together to provide enough energy, oxygen, and nutrients, to the working muscles to avoid fatigue.
(2) Muscular Strength: This works with muscular endurance to be able produce force for a short period of
