I chose Franz Joseph Haydn because of his contributions to the arts through out the years; not only was he one of the world greatest composers. For the purpose of this paper I will discuss his contributions to society through his biography, Musical genius Career, and Musical influences.
Franz Joseph Haydn is one of the greatest composers of the Classical music period and is often credited with creating the symphony and string quartet forms. Hadyn was born in Rohrau, Austria on April 1st, 1732; died in Vienna on May 31st, 1809. Hadyn had an enormous influence on later composers such as Schubert, Mendeslsohn, and Brahams. During his early age of 8, he was recruited to sing in a choir at Stephen’s Cathedral. This was around the time when he learned how to play violin and keyboard which he taught his self how to play. In 1761 he became an assistant to composer Nicola Porpora and that was how he got paid. A few years later he got a position at the palace that financially took care of him for 30 years. Haydns’ popularity was raising inside and outside of the walls of the Esterhazy family. While living with the Esterhazy family he created several important works such as Paris symphonies( 1785-1786), The Seven Last Words of Christ(1786), Wolf Gang Amadues Mozart. In 1791, he was let go by the Esterhazy prince and he quickly went to England. While in England he performed serveral works such as Rider, the surprise, military, and drumroll. In 1975, Haydn moved back to Rohrau, Austria where he was a public figure and when he wasn’t conducting he was in town showing his face until he died at the age of 77 because of health issues.

... was in Vienna in 1750. He would receive nothing but music in his life; from hardcovers, to individuals he lived with, and the places he went. One of the individuals he studied under was a educator of Italian opera Nicolo Porpora. The Italian opera controlled Europe during that time. There were many works of the Italian opera made for the Prince at that time. After the prince let him go he was already a legend and spread his music in England before his death. Later he had a big influence on composers such as Schubert, Mendelssohn and Brahms.
Haydn is memorized as the first great symphonist and the writer who principally created the string quartet. The principal plot of the classical class, Haydn used inspiration on the likes of Mozart, his student Ludwig van Beethoven, and scores of others. He was one of the world greatest composers and well respected for his works
