Ghouls and ghost galore, going door to door getting all the treats and more. The one night out of the year everyone can dress up without any judgment. How exciting, even more so while being hyper due to all of the free treats that are given out. Halloween now, is known as a time for trick or treating and wearing cute, funny, or even scary costumes. Throughout the nation catastrophes occur on a daily basis; however there are a few catastrophes that have taken national precedence and left a traumatized nation. Most usually these catastrophes are an act of terrorism. Michael Nelson (2010) describes the nature of such terrorism catastrophes as disconcerting, unanticipated and that unnerve “the country’s sense of safety and identity” (p. 20). Everybody celebrates Halloween, but some people might celebrate the spooky holiday in a variety of ways. Most people celebrate this holiday by going door to door asking the greeters for candy while in their costumes. Others may see the night as an advantage to play pranks on others or even to create public haunted houses or haunted trails. For people that like to hold public events, they may create costume parties. For those that are either lazy or they just don’t want to participate in the events, they may spend the night by staying in their houses and doing an activity of their own. Most do not know this, but Halloween was originally a holiday to honor loved ones who passed.

As I have grown up over the years, Halloween is celebrated differently for me. I always notice that even though it is celebrated differetly the people haven’t changed and that’s what makes it memorable.
The tell tale signs of an approaching Halloween include your favourite candies having undergone a spooky makeover, horror movie marathons on the television for you to watch alone (or are you?) late at night, haunted houses popping up seemingly out of nowhere and of course, who could forget the infamous jack-o-lanterns?

Halloween night is when ghouls and goblins rom the streets, the wolves howl at the moon, and you hear the laughter of witches flying around in the night sky, but that's only people in costumes. Every night on October 31st you will see kids as young as 9 months to adults as old as 80 dressed in costumes that range from angels to some that dress as people's nightmares. The month of Halloween some decorate their houses as scary as they can with flicking noises of their front porch light that casts over the freshly cut pumpkin that lies on the foot of the stairs, while you hear the stomping of little kids running house to house getting candy and the yelling of parents telling them to slow down.
