Studying Art History, from long ago in my eyes is very inspiring. I say this because of all the different hues, textures, shapes, mediums, and more which is put into creating a piece of art. Different people have different points of view on art but people should really look deeper into art and not just what they see on the surface. There is much more than that, taking the time to study art can be a new learning experience. You get to find out when, where, why a piece of art what created. My recent study is of The Hall of Bulls, that was discovered in Southern France. This art consist of all that I mention above, it has more meaning than what is seen on the surface, so I will be explaining more. First to begin with, The Hall of Bulls was dated back in 15,000 BCE and were allowed access to the public after World War Two. The painting is located in the Lascaux which is a cave near the village of Montignac in southwestern France in the department of Dordogne. The Hall of Bulls is approximately eleven feet and six inches long. And the medium used for this painting was said to be “minerals which were used. It consisted of the color violet, yellow, black, red, and brown.” …show more content…

Bulls are seen on the wall with large horns. There are large and smaller animals, and some of those appear to be male deer. Horses can be seen in the left corner of the painting. It seems like a total of sixteen animals are seen in the photo. All the animals seem to be coming to a point they are coming coming from left to right to meet together. The animals are necessarily coming to the center. I notice how the bulls appear to be walking as where the horses on the left appear to be running. It gives the impression that all the animals are in a field and feel free enough to be in a large open field and don’t fear being hunted by predators. This just by looking at it gives a rather calm
