When Haemon, Antigone’s fiancee, finds her dead, it influences him to kill himself. When the news of Haemon’s death gets to Eurydice, Creon’s wife and Haemon’s mother, she kills herself. In the Greek play, Antigone, by Sophocles, Creon is a complex character that brings suffering to others by imprisoning Antigone, killing Haemon’s fiancée which results in Haemon killing himself, this chain continues when Haemon’s mother, Creon’s wife, kills herself; this showcases some of the tragedies that play out in Antigone.
