Mindsets and Their Impact on Human Relationships

Even pets have great relationships with humans, but humans are more likely having difficulty and discords in relationships between themselves. They will have disappointments and heartbreaks, revenge and hope the other one to be miserable, but the next step to deal with a broken relationship is depends on what "mindset" they have. In Carol S. Dweck's Mindset, she writes about two different mindsets which are either Fixed Mindset or Growth Mindset. When people with the fixed mindset believe that their qualities and intelligence are given, they could not do much to change it. On the other hand, people who have the growth mindset see their abilities and intelligence can expand, they can work on them to develop themselves. When two mindset occurring in a terrible relationship, people with fixed mindset will lash out and hope they could wound the person who inflicted this bad relationship. However, for the people who had growth mindset are comfortable to forgiving, understanding, and moving on. Then, people in relationship should have communication, willing to work through the inevitable differences, and aware of their partners own live-time goals. After reading chapter 6 Relationships: Mindsets in Love (Or Not) in Mindset, I found Dweck has a really good point, she writes, “A no effort relationship is a doomed relationship, not a great relationship. It takes work to communicate accurately and it takes work to expose and resolve conflicting hopes and beliefs.” It does not really dangerous that a relationship have a serious problem, as long as people are pleased to discuss and put themselves in each other’s shoes, their relationship is going to grow and
