As a young teenager I used to live in Greeley for 5 years after I moved there from a small town that I hated in Oklahoma where I grew up. I went to school and got my first job there as a teacher aide. I have a cousin whose family still lives there. There are many advantages to living in Greeley for good environment, recreations, and schooling. Just east of the mountain range, Colorado Front Range is Greeley – about 15 miles east of the Highway I-25 which runs north and south linking Cheyenne, Wyoming through Fort Collins, Denver, Colorado Springs and Pueblo. Greeley is in the county seat of Weld County and has more than 75,000 people, approximately. It has two small towns, Evans and Garden City. It is located on the Highway 34 which runs from the mountains via Estes Park out to the eastern plains. It has an easy access to the Denver International Airport with its blue mustang, mountains and plains. Greeley has a good environment with the loveliest and plentiful parks in any city I’ve visited. In the past, there were four parks named Bittersweet, Cottonwood, Glenmore and Island Grove but today there has over 25 parks within the city limits from skate parks to open space parks. Other community events that take place only in summer time are: Centennial Village and Greeley Stampede. Centennial Village, a museum village where the kids could experience what it would be like to live in Greeley in the late 19th century. There are old buildings such as houses, an old church and a one-room school house, even a small train station. Inside of these buildings are old artifacts from that period. Greeley Stampede is a big 4th of July celebration event that features carnival rides, pie-contest, rodeo, foods, and free admission of stage
