It had been 5 years since the death of Johnny and Dally and everyday I miss them more and more. I am 18 now and about to leave to start my first year of college. I have still been living with my brothers Darry and Sodapop. Darry is now 25 and Soda is now 22. Things have been a little different ever since we won the rumble that night. I remember it like it was yesterday. But the difference is now the greasers and Socs are not really a thing anymore. Darry, Soda and I have kinda lose touch with Two-Bit, Steve and Cherry. But we all still think and talk about them everyday.(I mostly talk about Cherry.) When we see the Socs wondering the streets we don't go over and try to pick a fight anymore. We either smile and wave, it's like we're all one big friendly neighborhood. …show more content…
I am now very good friends with Randy. It has been a little lonely though Soda went back to school, he is mostly gone during the day and comes back home late at night. Darry is working all the time, going in and out of the house. But now i'm leaving for college and I'm going to be away from my brothers. Ever since I wrote that theme for Mr.Syme I have loved writing ever since and now i'm going to try and make a career out of it. I use mostly my past memories to help me write. A lot has happened to my brothers before and over the course of five years so I have a lot to write about. For example Darry has a new girlfriend that he sees a lot her name is Jennifer. She had blonde hair and the biggest blue eyes. I also write about the rumble, Johnny and Dally passing away and my parents. Her little sister is cute too. She reminds me of Cherry she's sweet and compassionate on the inside and tough on the outside even though Jennifer's little sister Rachel doesn't have red hair she has blonde. I miss talking to Cherry, I loved our conversations. I wish I could talk to her one last time before I leave for college.
I’ve completed the novel, BANG, by Sharon Flake. In my story the protagonist name is Mann, he grew up in a ruthless environment. Mann had a little brother that died and it drove their father crazy and he was determined that he would not lose another son. He threw Mann into the world to see if he could become a man. Mann, the protagonist of BANG by Sharon Flake and I are alike in many ways. We share some of the same views of the world, are viewed by the world in similar ways and I would respond in a comparable way to the central conflict of the novel. Therefore, I believe given the chance, we could be friends.
Everything was going great at Oakville farm, I mean everything was normal and okay how it should be if you don’t count that the fact Donna came home late last night. She came home around two or three o’clock in the morning when it was pitch black outside, and believe me this isn’t the first time it ever happened either, maybe it’s not that big of a deal to you but to me it is, Donna here is the farmer’s daughter. While Mr. Salem is away she’s the one in charge of us,and because she’s the one in charge of us we haven't eaten in two days! Mr. Salem always made sure we were cared for, and was handled with love but , Donna on the other hand she just doesn’t care. There’s a lot of us here on the farm, we have a variety of animals here like horses,
Expectations are define as personal belief that something will happen. It’s similar to judgment or assumption people made to a certain person or group of people. It may not be true and it could be different from what is expected. People can also change how they live their lives based on their own expectations just like how the Greasers and the Socs had different expectations. These two groups have contrast expectations that caused bad actions to come up or lead them to benefits for their own group. Expectations may force people into something they are not, even if it is to become a hero or the opposite.
I also don't own the idea, it was requested to me by the wonderful Amanda. Thank you so much! I hope I did this idea justice.
The theme of the outsiders is things aren't always as they appear. In the book the greasers and the socials or the “socs” are enemies because they come from completely different worlds. The socs living on the the wealthier side of town where everything seems perfect, and the greasers in the poor side of town where they feel the need to make themselves look cool and intimidating or what the greasers call “tuff” to be respected more among themselves and the socs. They all have their individual issues on both sides but each side think the other has it better, but is it really what it appears?
It was brought to my attention last night by someone, who shall remain nameless (JAYNIE TILLERY, our resident staff professional "proofer" ) that the two iPray emails sent yesterday afternoon contains multi errors.
Maybe I'm just oblivious but hear me out. I put my music on shuffle while studying and the song "Gangsta's Paradise" by Coolio came on. Of course I didn't change it because it's Coolio and I happen to like that song. However, since I don't consider myself a die hard Coolio fan, I never really take the time to actually LISTEN to what he's saying. This time I did and lo and behold, He was explaining the struggles of growing up in a gang and mentioning things we talked about in History Through Film in his song! With my newfound knowledge of gangs I looked up the lyrics only to find that I understood what he was talking about. He mentioned gangs destroying themselves, the importance of turf, kids looking up to gangs, and even how
Hello, I am Piggy. Thank you all for attending today. In this very moment we are going be remember a littlun from the island. The boy with the Mulberry birthmark was one of the only littluns we could keep up with because he stood out. He was truly sweet and caring for those around him. I remember when he was the first littluns to let us older boys know that the beast was in the forest. I know that he didn’t intend to spread fear amongst the rest of the littluns, so I respected him as being brave because he wanted to protect those around him. It was quite hard. What would you do if you were surrounded by a bunch of littluns that were crying because they thought there was a child eating beast on the loose? He only did what he thought
During the course of the novel “The Outsiders” there are three linked deaths that change the relationships between the Curtis brothers in many different ways. The soc, Bob Sheldon, dies first. When Ponyboy and Johnny flee after Darry hit Ponyboy they run into their rivals Bob and his best friend Randy Adderson. Bob takes Ponyboy and starts drowning him until Johnny gets his switchblade out and kills Bob. After this, Johnny dies. Dally (a greaser with a criminal record) sends Ponyboy and Johnny to an abandoned church so they can hide after what they did. When they go to leave after a few days, the church catches on fire with a few elementary school kids trapped inside, so they go into the church to save them. When Johnny gets the last kid out, a piece of the roof falls on his back, breaking it. The last death is Dally. After Johnny dies, Dally goes crazy and robs a store. The police chase him and shoot him down because he pulled out a gun at them. As you can see at the beginning of the novel, the brothers are constantly getting into arguments about stupid little things, but after Darry hits Ponyboy, things change. After these deaths, Ponyboy’s grades start dropping and he starts to lose sight of himself. Him and Darry get into many more arguments until Sodapop Curtis tells them to promise to stop arguing because it’s tearing him apart. They both agree and it makes their relationship really strong at the end of the novel. Although the Curtis brothers do not have a close relationship at the beginning of the novel, after experiencing the deaths of Bob, Johnny, and Dally, it makes their relationship stronger.
Oh Johnny, Johnny, Johnny. Johnny was my best friend, a part of my family. I knew that I could always count on him whenever I needed him. Even though his family was violent with him, he was still there for me. He can also always count on me to be there for him. Other people don't know him as well as I do, I remember all the great times we had looking up at the stars at 1 a.m. in a lot. *pause* We also went to the movies. This one time there were these two pretty good looking girls there, and they were Socs too. They were sweet, nice and funny, they were even nice to us Greasers. Anyway, Johnny wouldn't hurt anyone unless he absolutely had to, Johnny didn't like to fight that often. The only time he would fight would be in the rumble, or if
You have the nerve to think of me as a madman? If anything the toasting had not diminished my senses, but advanced them along. If I’m so mad, just watch at how calmly I am able to tell you this story.
I suppose the money could’ve also doubled as abortion money if I ever needed that, which hopefully I never will. It’s just that, you could say it’s kind of commonplace around here that every girl in Saraland had a roll of twenties hoarded away somewhere as a plan B if it ever came down to that.
Allison and I still enjoyed being with our friends with the only difference being Shane who had started hanging out with a rougher crowd at school. The rest of us were considering him to be less of a friend and more of an acquaintance. That was mainly because his attitude had really changed and he wanted to fit into the image his new group of friends had. He
My friends Jeff and Randy lived next door to me. Jeff was a tall dark haired boy who was a year older than I. Randy was similar in build as his brother, who was the same age as I was, and he had blonde hair that was very long. Jeff was different from his brother Randy. Jeff was a daredevil. He liked to take chances that were sometimes dangerous. Randy was more laid back, and easy going. Summertime in Indiana was the paramount of school vacation. I lived on an old country road, where fields of corn touched the blue sky. I loved watching the wheat fields on windy days, as the wheat would sway back and forth.
...h it between all of the fights because they’re still alive and doing well. My brother is very tech smart so he is trying to start up his own business doing computer repairs and that sort of thing. He has a wonderful girlfriend, Sonia, that is the perfect match for him. My mom is still married to my dad, Robbie and they just had their twenty third wedding anniversary in early April! My mom is now a Special Ed teacher at Shafer Elementary, and my dad is phone technician at AT&T.
