Famous, successful golfers including Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, and Tiger Woods are aware that golf isn’t an almost mindless sport; golfing enthusiasts worldwide and participants of minor and major golf tournaments can agree. It requires skill and mentality - regardless of the common misconception that to play a round or two, all it takes is securing top-of-the-line golf balls, golf clubs, tees, and other equipment, and finding a great golf course.

By determining your identity, hardly anything can stand in the way of being the best golfer that you can be. This way, you can maximize your individual strengths and weaknesses and use them to your advantage. For instance, if you’re “the intimidator”, you may want to make sure that there’s always something on the line since only if there is can you have an unparalleled level of focus.
3 types of golfers:
1. The intimidator – a golfer who possesses “the intimidator” personality is likely an organized type. He prefers to have control of the game, and he wants to come out the better one. His strength is that he is incredibly competitive. For him, there’s always a winner and a loser; the former should be him.
2. The laid-back golfer – “the laid-back” personality of a golfer can be traced to how he prefers to take a carefree attitude while on the course. The best trait that he has is the ability to always stay relaxed. Instead of taking matters seriously, his intention is to have a mindless match or two.
3. The methodologist – a golfer is “the methodologist” type if he is quite strict regarding the practices he’s accustomed to. He works around a routine, which is an advantage since he’s the kind who prepares thoroughly. His biggest weakness? Pressure can easily get to him.
