The value of Global Awareness is that it is one of the driving forces in the advancement of humanity. America has become somewhat of a melting pot for various cultures to come together to create a new, more diverse, way of living. Combining different cultures into one diverse culture is what makes America such a unique country in which to live. Whether it be technology, style of dance, clothing or music, American culture is built upon the awareness of the many different ethnic groups of people from around the world. Religion, food, arts, and recreational past times, are just a few ways in which we express global and cultural awareness.

Being aware of different cultures paves the way for social and economic advancement. Growth is contingent upon outside influences, and without global awareness, the culture in America would remain stagnant, as there would be no knowledge of anything outside of itself that would spark such advancement. Israel, for instance, is one of the leading exporters of technology in the world. When asked, “What does Israel bring to the world?”, Shiri Achi Asaf-West, Tulsa’s Israeli Emissary, answered, “We export knowledge; high tech knowledge, and knowledge of agriculture and medicine.” Many cultures have benefited from the technological advancement and medical breakthroughs by American scientists and engineers. Africa, for example, has benefited from the medical advancements of AIDs/HIV research in America, while in turn, America has benefited, financially, from gold, silver, diamonds, etc., by mining the African continent. We believe that most Americans have a heightened sense of global awareness, compared with other countries in the world, due to its vast multicultural society. America’s role in global trade makes a huge impact on uniting nations.
